What Kinal Says About Ve

Interviewer (I) : Kinal
Kinal (K) : Yep

I : Which of the members you are closest with?
K : Uhm..Ve

I : And why is that?
K : Well, you see..I’m more of a happy go-lucky person. So, those who are reserved and sweet really complement my personality. Coincidentally, at the final audition, I met this one reserved anti-social girl sitting alone in a corner. I talked to her, introduced myself and we feel very connected just like that. So yeah, we are close friends now.

I : The first word you have in your mind if I said: “Ve”
K : Nice. She is sooo nice, seriously. Well, she does have an evil side of her, but as evil as she could be, it is still evilishly nice for me (laugh), seriously.

I : Can you elaborate more about how nice she is?
K : She’s..uhm.. she’s really protective. I mean, she always there to protect us, she never tired reminding us of things. Whenever I need some advices, she’s always there. Whenever we need something, if she does have the resource for it, she will give it. She always there when we need her the most.

I : What you hate the most from Ve?
K : I hate her when she starts to show her evil bitchy side, like, seriously. She changed her tone when she starts to do that.

I : And how’s that?
K : Like, “Ve, your clothes look nice,” and then she starts to say “Of course!” (TN: in a cruel bitchy tone) The problem is, Ve will usually just said “Yes?” (TN: in a shy demeanor). She only did that to me, I hate that bitchy side of her. And when I pointed the fact that she’s being a meanie, she usually said “Well, I AM Cruel!”. More than often I was shocked by her sudden change in demeanor.

I : (Laugh) What do you like the most from Ve?
K : I like her style the most. I mean, she has this feminine feature, but she never wore anything feminine (In everyday life). She’s really good at expressing herself. She’s so cool.

I : Things you do together with Ve the most?
K : Eating. You know, Ve is a big fan of Japanese food while I’m..not really into it since the time Ve fell in love with this one Japanese restaurant, and we ate nowhere but at that place for the whole week. I was okay at first but as it went by, I was jaded with the food since Ve always order the exact same menu course and I was like..ugh… Yeah, but that’s Ve. She always did that if she feels the “click” with something.

I : Tell me a story about Ve that no one else know except for you.
K : [Hesitating]

I : Well, you are her close friend, right? You must’ve know something. Now, tell me. Just give me one.
K : One…Oh dear..this is hard..
I : [laugh]

K : Well, she’s an avid perfume collector. She has tons of perfume in her collection. She always changed her perfume whenever she went out. It is no longer a secret that JKT48 members always shares everything, you understand what I meant, right? We all smells the same due to we shared the same perfume. So let’s say, I bought a perfume, and we will shared it until not even a single drop left. Now Ve…, she’s a little bit…say…different. Since she’s a descendant of… let us just stop it here, please? (laugh)
I : (laugh)

-Scene Cut-

K : Her perfumes were all high class one BUT she always said “I don’t want to bring my perfume to the theater, No.Way.” and when I asked her why, she answered it with “I don’t want my precious perfume to not having a single drop left after just a few days.” Stingy Ve is stingy. I mean, we (JKT48 members) always share! While she, she always hide her things. Not many people know that side of Ve. She’s a little bit stingy when it comes to our ritual of sharing things. (laugh)

I : One word that can symbolize Ve
K : You’ve asked that
I : Nope
K : For real?
I : [laugh] Yeah
K : Hmm… Mom
I : [laugh]
K : Yeah, for real. She really feels like a mom it surreal, like a movie Mom or something.

I : And what is that supposed to mean? her nature?
K : Not really, she’s actually pretty spoiled. People always got the wrong image of her nature, but the more they know her, the more they will realize that she’s pretty much spoiled. But she’s really reserved and without us even realizing it, she’s really took a good care of us. She’s really wise, a lot more wiser than me. I’m the Captain, but I simply can’t do it without Ve by my side. She teach me a lot. I learn a lot from her. So yeah, like a Mom.
