Jakarta Travel Guide for Overseas Fans
So Akicha and Haruka perhaps started to live in Jakarta in a few more weeks or maybe at the start of 2013. That of course would resulted in overseas fans influx to Jakarta that perhaps might want to support their Oshi, Akicha and Haruka. Visitors, either domestic or overseas might find that Jakarta is not a friendly place to visit since this city is so crowded and full of shady areas, companies and individuals that you will need to avoid at all costs.
Thus, this is the travel guide for you if someday you want to visit JKT48 Theater. It might not be complete but at least I hope that this guide will help you when you visit Jakarta.
Before You Go
Exchange some of your currency to Rupiah before you decided to go. You could exchange it in Jakarta’s Bank when you arrived, but I urgently advise to have some Rupiah in hand beforehand.
Book the hotel room beforehand. Here are some of the hotels I recommended to stay :

There’s also a hotel in f(x) mall called Harris Hotel. The price starts from Rp 1.500.000 (around $150 USD/night) and its located right on top of f(x) mall so it would be more convenient to go to theater without risking you life going through Jakarta’s traffic.

How To Get to Jakarta
This is pretty easy. Many international flights fly directly to Jakarta or with a couple of short transit. If you somehow decided to use an Indonesian Flight Company, choose Garuda Indonesia. On some Garuda Indonesia flights, immigration entry procedures are conducted during the flight, which saves passengers from the need to queue to clear passport control upon arrival at the airport. They named it Immigration on Board (IoB)
Immigration on Board (IoB) is a special service created by Garuda Indonesia to provide more convenience for passengers travelling to Indonesia. With this service, in cooperation with the Directorate General of Immigration, Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Garuda Indonesia passengers on select long haul flights can complete their immigration process onboard before landing and disembarking.
By utilizing this service, Garuda Indonesia passengers will no longer have to queue at the immigration counter upon arrival at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar or Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, affording passengers the benefit of saving precious time.
At The Airport
Visa on Arrival is available at the Airport, but please keep in mind that you ignore any kind of additional fees and always pay with cash in Rupiah. Credit card/debit card/USD or any other currency is accepted but I advise to resorting to Rupiah in cash to avoid any shady practice or additional fees.
DO NOT trust baggage porters no matter how cheap they offered their service to you. Get a trolley and do your job by yourself.
You can do some money exchange in the airport if you want to, but again I advise to do the exchange in you home country first as I already stated above.
To Jakarta We Go!
There are a lot of transportation available for you to get to the town from the Airport, but I suggest to resort on Taxi service if you haven’t book for a hotel and asks for a transportation from the Hotel which is FREE, so please contact your hotel first. Please keep in mind that you only use these two :
1. Blue Bird (Blue colored car, check below to avoid imitators)
2. Silver Bird (Black colored car, Mercedes Benz or Toyota Vellfire/Alphard)
If you want comfort and safety, resort to the Mercedes Benz powered Silver Bird. A lot of pricier, but will ensure you comfort in Jakarta’s traffic and the drivers are well educated. Blue Bird is the cheaper version of Silver Bird with Toyota’s as their armadas and usually the drivers are nice, but still not as good as their pricier counterpart. Still safe compared to the other taxis though. As much pricier Silver Bird compared to the other taxis, it’s not that pricey with around 1.5-2 USD as a start. Silver Bird Will cost you around 15-25 USD to get to Jakarta.
Be aware of the other taxis. I urge you not to use the other taxis other than those two I mentioned. Taxiku and Express is quite good for local customers, but for overseas, I don’t think so.
Blue Bird’s reputation has spawned a host of dodgy imitators, so just because it’s blue doesn’t mean it’s safe. Check the following before you get in:
1. The door and roof logo is either the Blue Bird or the Pusaka/Lintas “flying egg”
2. The windshield says “Blue Bird Group”
3. The driver is in uniform
4. The headrests have Blue Bird logos

Although there are a lot of budget restaurant in Jakarta, please avoid it at all costs. Well..unless you have resistance to bacteria or have lived in a third world countries before thus resulting in a pretty good body immune system. Resort to the pricier hotel restaurants, such as the Merriot, Ritz-Carlton or Shangri-La. It will costs you around 15-30 USD per menu but it is absolutely safer for your health.
Another good (but not healthy) alternative is to visit the fast food chain restaurants available widely such as McDonalds. No bacon though, so no BLT.
You missed some alcoholic drinks ? Relax, the hotel usually have a bar with alcoholic drinks or you could visit some of the bars widely available in Jakarta such as the Mardi Gras or Delilah. “Shaken, not stirred”.
To f(X)! I wanna see the girls!
Okay, same as before, take a cab. You could ask the hotel to book the taxi for you. Remember, either Blue Bird or Silver Bird only. I advise to go to the theater at least 1-2 hour before the ticket exchange schedule. Ask the driver to take you to f(X) and just wait patiently in the cab since traffic jam in Jakarta is so bad it could resulted in you goes gaga for no apparent reason.
That’s it! you are on the end of your mission, just go straight to the 4th floor and exchange your ticket or wait for the waiting list. If you somehow arrived way too early, go to the nearest coffee chain in f(X) and enjoy a cup of coffee while waiting.
I Need to Exchange My Money
Don’t go to any money exchange counters widely available in Jakarta. They’re usually giving you extra additional fees and are very shady. Go to the nearest ATM machine. You won’t get more than Rp1.500.000 – Rp2.500.000 though. You could also go to the nearest bank but be very careful when walking to the bank, the street is not safe. Please be aware of pickpockets even when you are at f(X). Always put your wallet in your front pocket.

＜出発前に＞
所持金のいくらかは出国前にルピアに両替しておくこと。到着後、ジャカルタの銀行でも両替できますが、手元にあらかじめルピアを準備しておくことを強くお勧めします。

ネット情報＝
JKT48劇場があるf(X)モールの中にはHarris Hotelがある。価格は１泊１万３千円程度から。f(X)モールの上層階にあるので、ジャカルタの危険な交通に身を晒さないで済む。

＜ジャカルタへの交通＞
空路を利用することになると思いますが、インドネシアのガルーダ航空を利用すれば、機内で入国審査が行わることもあり、入国手続き時間の節約になります。※これに関しては事前に航空会社に問い合わせてください。
＜空港で＞
日本から数日間の観光で行く場合はビザは不要です。（※いずれにしても、入国後何かしら支払いをする時は、クレジットカードや米ドルではなくて、あらかじめ準備したルピアで払うほうが、不明瞭な為替換算を避けることが出来る、とAnggaさんは勧めています）
絶対に荷物運びのポーターを使わないこと。自分でカート等を使って運びましょう。空港でも両替は可能ですが、前にも述べましたが、日本で幾ばくかは両替をしてきたほうが良いでしょう。
＜ジャカルタへゴー！＞
空港から市内まではいくつもの交通手段がありますが、タクシーを使うのが賢明でしょう。もしくは、ホテル予約の際に、空港までの無料送迎があるかどうかを確認しておくことも大切です。
タクシーは次の２種類だけしか使わないこと。
１．ブルーバード（青色の車両、偽物に注意＝下記）
２．シルバーバード（黒色の車両、ベンツ又はトヨタミニバン・ヴェルファイア／アルフォード）
ジャカルタの交通事情を勘案して安全に快適に行きたいのなら、「２．シルバーバード」を使ってください。料金はかかりますが、ドライバーの質も大変良いものです。「１．ブルーバード」は、ドライバーもそう悪くはありません。２．に比べると快適さは価格相応ですが、後述する一般のタクシーに比べると安全で快適です。初乗り運賃は１３０円から１６０円位。「２．シルバーバード」なら、ジャカルタまで１３００円から２２００円くらいです。
以上２種以外の一般のタクシーはお勧めしません。「タクシク」や「エクスプレス」は地元の人には大変便利ですが、海外旅行者には全くお勧め出来ません。ブルーバードの評判は怪しげな偽モノを生み出しました。「青色」なら全部安全ということではないのでご注意ください。チェックポイントは次の通りです。
１）ドアや屋根のロゴはBlue Bird またはPusaka/Lintas と「空飛ぶ卵マーク」です。
２）フロントガラスには、Blue Bird Groupと明記してあります。
３）ドライバーは制服を着用しています。
４）ヘッドレストにもBlue Birdのロゴがあります。

＜食事＞
ジャカルタには手頃なレストランが沢山ありますが、もしあなたがバクテリアへの耐性を持っているとか、ここにくる前に第三世界で長く住んでいて免疫のある丈夫な身体でない限り、絶対に避けることが賢明です。高級ホテルの食事は目玉が飛び出るほど高いものですが、健康には代えられませんしね。
もうひとつの代替手段は（健康にはどうかと思いますが）、ファストフードです。当地にも、ウィンディやマクドナルドがあります。でもベーコン入りは売ってませんので念のため。
お酒はどうかって？ご安心を、ホテルには大概バーがありますし、もちろんお酒を売ってます。他にもMardi Gras oとかDelilahとか、ジャカルタには多くのバーがあります。００７じゃないですが、「ウォッカマティーニを、ステアじゃなくシェイクで」、どうぞお楽しみを。
＜いよいよJKTに会いにf(X)へ＞
では、前例に倣ってタクシーに乗りましょう。ホテルで予約してもらったほうが確実です。いいですか、ブルーバードかシルバーバード以外はダメですよ。チケット交換時間の１、２時間前には着いていたほうがいいでしょう。「f(X)まで！」とドライバーに告げたら、後はジャカルタ名物の大渋滞との我慢比べです。イライラしますが頑張って。
ようやく着きました！いよいよ最終段階です。４階へ直行してチケットと交換、またはウエイティングリストに登録しましょう。早く着きすぎた場合は、近くにカフェがありますから、コーヒーでも飲みながら優雅に待ちましょう。
＜両替が必要になった＞
ジャカルタの市中によくある両替所へは行かないこと。法外な手数料を吹っかけられたり、為替レートも怪しげな場合が多いです。数千円であればＡＴＭを探してそこで両替するか、銀行へ行きましょう。でもくれぐれも街中を歩く時は気をつけてください。例え、f(X)の中でも、スリには注意。お尻のポケットに財布を入れるなんでことは絶対してはなりません。
