“First Rabbit” in Indonesia’s Trending Topic
Social media is big here in Indonesia, and JKT48’s fandom is growing because of social media. Interaction between fan in the fandom mostly happened online. Any kind of talks about JKT48 easily spread among fans. Famous members such as Melody and Nabilah get retweeted a lot. I mean, really a lot. While a regular local celebrity usually get hundreds of retweets, both Melody and Nabilah’s tweets could get thousands of retweets. Because of that reason, I think I’m going to start posting regularly here about talks of JKT48 on social media, especially on Twitter.
The first social media post here is about last night’s trending topic on Twitter. As you probably know, JKT48 team J performed live on ANTV last night. They perform 2 songs. The first one is Koisuru Fortune Cookie, and the second one is First Rabbit. Last night was the first time the song First Rabbit performed live on national television. That’s probably why people got it buzzing on Twitter.
The phrase “First Rabbit” became the number one trending topic in Indonesia. It even reached worldwide trending topic for a few minutes. It reached 25,240 tweets just last night. The peak happened around 10:00-10:01 PM with 1,100 tweets. Overall, all tweets received 21,877,000 impressions.
The talks were mostly triggered by JKT48 members’ tweet that’s giving clue about their performance.

I’d be curious to hear about non-fans comments in Twitter about First Rabbit. The lyrics are excellent. The translation can be smoother (e.g. mandi lumpur), but it’s quite good.

Yup, I think the cameraman was drunk, we couldn’t see the dance clearly at all..
In my opinion, First Rabbit should be a single and not just a couple song,, because the song is easy listening, the lyrics are great and the dance is rather cute
I didn’t know beforehand that JKT48 also performed First Rabit, so shame I didn’t have a chance to see it. First Rabit is a good song, and to be honest I like it better than KFC. The first time I listened this song I cried a little on “Aku tidak takut pada luka dan sakit.. (I’m not afraid of hurt and pain)”. Nonetheless, that was the second time I watched Melo as the center of KFC, it’s different sight compared to Haruka. LOL
