JIZ FM Yogyakarta Interview: Dhike, Gaby, Shafa

On Saturday, 21 September 2013, radio station 89.5 JIZ FM in Yogyakarta hosted a JKT48 direct selling event attended by Team J members Rezky Wiranti Dhike and Gabriela Margareth Warouw and Trainee member Fakhriyani Shafariyanthi. They also sat down for an interview with local DJ Oka Fahreza.

Introduction

Oka: Wow, the studio is overflowing since we’re hosting a meet-and-greet with JKT48 members. It’s so crowded! Good morning! I’m having fun chatting with Dhike, Gaby, and Shafa. Segment 1

Oka: Good morning! I’m still here with Dhike, Gaby, and Shafa from JKT48. They’re very cute girls. Don’t be jealous, all right? Okay, I want to find out the differences in your activities before becoming a member and after. Gaby?

Gaby: I guess the biggest difference is that before we became members, our daily activities involved studying, going to school, coming home, playing around, and so on. It was a normal daily routine. Now we are being trained in dancing, singing, and public speaking while we couldn’t do these things before. We’re…developing our talents, especially with interactive events such as handshakes and theater shows.

Dhike: The interaction brings us closer to our fans, and it helps us to develop our social skills.

Oka: Here’s a question from Twitter. What is the meaning of love for Dhike, Gaby, and Shafa? Young love! Do you have boyfriends?

ALL: No, we can’t have one.

Oka: I see, you’re not allowed to. Single? I’m single too! So what do you think about love? Let’s start from Dhike maybe.

Dhike: I don’t know…

Gaby: Love is…

Dhike: Someone’s earnest feelings.

Gaby: Yeah, that. What else?

Dhike: Love is L, O, V, E.

Shafa: Something cute maybe…

Oka: Okay, next. What does friendship mean to you? This is pretty deep, like a cocoon turning into a beautiful butterfly. That’s like you girls maybe.

Shafa: Friendship is the ability to help each other out through sharing.

Gaby: Friends are people with whom we can share our frustrations, and perhaps they can help us keep our minds off these problems and make us feel more relaxed.

Oka: One more from Twitter.

ALL: Oh! Hello!

Oka: Your fan too, isn’t he? He asks, “If you were reborn, what kind of person would you like to be?” Who’s up for it?

Shafa: I just want to be myself, but a better version of me. Because I’m happy with myself but still want to improve.

Oka: Ooh, so philosophical. What about you, Gaby?

Gaby: I want to try something new based on my hobby that I’ve never experienced before. For example, being a dance teacher or a vocal coach.

Oka: But you still want to be yourself, except to try out new hobbies.

Dhike: I also want to be myself. Why? Because I want to be useful person for my nation.

Gaby and Shafa: [Laughing and jeering at Dhike’s answer.]

Dhike: I want to show the world that I can be successful! Mom, look at me!

Oka: Of course you are. You just ate a bucketful! All right, I want to ask, what brings you to JIZ FM today?

Gaby: We’re doing some direct selling by ourselves

Shafa: We as members will be able to meet our fans directly.

Gaby: Right. Our new single is “Fortune Cookie in Love”, which is our third single. It includes the songs “Fortune Cookie yang Mencinta”, “First Rabbit”, and “Baby! Baby! Baby”, but the Team KIII version. This song is…how do you say it?

Shafa: This is a song that everyone can dance to with us.

Gaby: That’s the reason the choreography is relatively simple, so that people can learn the dance easily.

Oka: What about the music video?

Gaby: Yes, it’s also included in the CD.

Valda: We have a new program called JKT48…

ALL: Story!

Valda: JKT48 Story is a little bit different from other programs because we explain to the world that JKT48 deserves to be the number one idol group in Indonesia. In this program, we cover each and every member. The public knows the JKT as 48 or 51 members, the whole team. They don’t know things like… Dhike who loves to pick her nose, or Gaby’s snore when she sleeps, for an example. In Story, we’ll discuss everything that the public doesn’t know yet. One episode for one member.

Oka: Again, Valda has just told us about their own program on…RCTI?

Valda: RCTI on Saturdays at 4 p.m.

ALL: Don’t forget to watch it!

Oka: Right, don’t forget to watch it if you’re curious about, let’s say, Dhike’s habits, or Gaby’s unique traits, or perhaps you’ll find out what Shafa is like, whether she the funniest or whatever.

Valda: We’ll definitely be covering their journeys from before they were chosen as JKT48 members up to now.
