#JKT48PeduliIndonesia: A Twitter Movement
For several hours this evening, Twitter lit up with the hashtag #JKT48PeduliIndonesia (JKT48 Cares for Indonesia). It was prompted by a tweet from Ayana Shahab using the fan-made hashtag to convey her condolences to those affected by a recent earthquake which hit the western Indonesian province of Aceh the day before JKT48 held its Jakarta concert.
The 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck at 2:37 p.m. local time on 2 July 2013. It was the third devastating earthquake in the past ten years, after the 2004 earthquake and tsunami which affected the Indian Ocean rim and the 2009 earthquake off the western coast of Sumatra. At least 30 people have been reported dead with several hundred injured. Some members also took the opportunity to express their condolences over the fires in nearby Riau province which killed two and sent clouds of thick smoke across the Strait of Malacca for weeks.
Update (6 July): An earlier version of this article suggested that the hashtag was created by Ayana Shahab. It was in fact created with the coordination of several fans in an effort to raise awareness on the disaster before being popularized by Ayana. Thank you, MatsuThinks, for the correction.

i want to help. But. i can’t do that……..
Hmm. Somehow I expect that they are going to held another charity event for this reason. Like the ones before, when Jakarta is hit hard by the flood.
But, I don’t know, though. Maybe I’m just kinda hoping that they can make that kind of event again.

Aceh is located on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia, there also has been a Tsunami on December’ 26 2004. Just watched news about earthquake in Aceh. Big condolence to the all victims. Ramadhan is coming soon, give them strength ya Allah.
What i know, is the movement started (or coordinated) by @JKTwister, hashtag push starts from 16:48, and well coordinated. The hashtag appears due to official’s actions about the aceh earthquake (nothing), unlike other artists. also, people thoght that if they held a concert forjapan, why not for their own country?
