JKT48 New Single: “Yuuhi wo Miteiru ka?”

JKT48 Operations Team announced the release of a new JKT48 single at Sunday evening’s concert in Surabaya with a teaser trailer. “Yuuhi wo Miteiru ka?” will be released on 3 July 2013, which coincides with the first day of the Jakarta concert.

“Yuuhi wo Miteiru ka?”, translated into Indonesian as “Apakah Kau Melihat Mentari Senja?”, was originally released in 2007 as AKB48’s sixth major single. To date, it is AKB48’s worst performing single in physical sales, as reported by Oricon. The song is currently performed as part of the Boku no Taiyou, or Matahari Milikku, set list by Team KIII.

Ten members of JKT48 have been selected for senbatsu for this release: five from Team J and five from Team KIII. They are Melody Nurramdhani Laksani, Jessica Veranda, Shania Junianatha, Haruka Nakagawa, Nabilah Ratna Ayu Azalia, Cindy Yuvia, Ratu Vienny Fitrilya, Natalia, Shinta Naomi, and Rona Anggreani. The original single also included ten AKB48 members: five from Team A, four from Team K, and one from Team B.

It has not been announced whether this single will contain additional B-side tracks. A pricing scheme has also not been revealed.

Update (2 July): Details of the single’s release scheme were announced at a press conference at JKT48 Theater on Tuesday. As with prior releases, a theater version and a regular version will be available. Both will be on sale at the Jakarta concert venue on 3 July.
