Boku no Taiyo Shonichi Report
Friday, May 17th, I’m back at the JKT48 Theater in f(X) Sudirman. This time I given the chance to watch the debut performance of the second set-list from JKT48 Trainees titled “Boku no Taiyou (My Sun).” A historic date for JKT48. Last year, the same date, for the first time JKT48 first generation (Aka Team J) held their first theater ever. That is in a temporary theater in Nyi Ageng Serang.
Before, JKT48 Trainees went with “Pajama Drive,” which began January 11th. We could say that this set-list is the place for the members to learn.
“Boku no Taiyou” was first performed by Himawarigumi, a team that consist of members from Team A and Team K while waiting for their theater renovation. “Boku no Taiyo” again was performed by the former Team 4.
As expected, this shonichi show was pretty crowded. For me this show brings back memories from when I first watched their first generation show in Pasaraya. I’m really hoping to see something new, something that makes me happy, smile and of course something with re-watch-ability.
As usual the show started with the kageana by one of the members and overture.
M1. Dreamin’ Girls
Just like the AKB48 version, the strong moment here is the vocal and claps. Unfortunately the clap was still heard as a minus one although the girls sang it live. Perhaps one day when the fans are already intimate with this song, we can hear the real claps from the fans.
M2. RUN RUN RUN
A very energetic pop song. The trainees did the performance while opening their seifuku’s jacket. I could feel how this set-list drained more energy compared to Pajama Drive.
M3. Mirai no Kajitsu (Buah Masa Depan)
They have sung this song before in many TV shows. This song can also be found in the recently released River single.
M4. Viva! Hurricane
I was impressed by their performance in this song. Is this really the trainees? What they did on stage was incredible. Totally different compared to the first time I saw them performing Pajama Drive. Expression, energy and spirit.
After Viva! Hurricane they started to introduce themselves. 16 JKT48 trainees : Yupi, Hanna, Lidya, Tata, Ikha, Kariin, Natalia, Yona, Naomi, Rona, Viny, Nadila, Noella, Acha, Rachel, and Della. What they talked about was their impression of the new set-list.
M5. Idol Nante Yobanaide (Jangan Panggil Aku Idol)
Yupi, Naomi, Kariin and Nadila participated in this song. A cute song, kinda looks like Tenshi no Shippo in Pajama Drive. What is interesting for me is the cheerleader costume the back dancer wore. It is such a cute costume.
M6. Boku to Juliet to Jet Coaster (Aku dan Juliet dan Jet Coaster)
Rona, Acha and Natalia. They wore the same costume as their AKB48 counterpart. With a suit and a hat which Rona claimed made her looks like a hardboiled detective.
M7. Higurashi no Koi
Ikha and Tata. Ikha with the black costume and Tata with the white costume. I don’t know why, but I was really captivated by Tata’s expression in this song. She’s really a fit in this song.
M8. Itoshisa no Defence (Pertahanan Cinta)
Lidya, Yona, Noella. With a black gown in the same sense as their AKB48 counterpart.
M9. Himawari (Bunga Matahari)
Della, Hanna, Viny, Rachel. A very energetic beat song. Where the AKB48 members donned a shirt and jeans, JKT48 trainees went with a short gown with a short yellow colored skirt. This was one of my favorite songs in this set.
The show then continued with a second session MC.
M10. Takeuchi Senpai (Kakak Kelasku)
They donned a checkered pink seifuku. Bright colors everywhere.
M11. Sonna Konna Wake de (Dengan Berbagai Macam Alasan)
The members then undressed themselves on stage. Don’t get me wrong tho’, underneath their previous seifuku they already donned a cute white colored costume with a green colored skirt. Actually this is just the same as what AKB48 did with the only differences being the costume design.
M12. Déjà vu
We all could clearly see the sweat those girls were producing pouring endlessly. Their hair looked wet due to the sweat. But this didn’t make them reduced their energy at all. Especially with this song which is full of sharp movement.
The third MC with Acha, Noella, Kariin, Tata, Yupi, Rona, Nadila and Hanna. A much better MC session compared to their old times. Looks like they now know how to do an interesting conversational exchange now.
The most interesting point was how they use fans terms in Twitter with various hash tags popularized by the fans themselves which only makes the fans laugh their asses off. They really did stalk our Twitter off ‘eh.
M13. Yuuhi wo Miteiruka? (Apakah Kau Melihat Matahari Senja?)
Yupi then talks about the intro for the next song. She talks pretty lengthy here but this time Yupi did it very well. This is one of the songs that introduced me to AKB48 and still is one my favorite song now.
EN1. Lay down!
After the encore call by the fans, the girls came back on stage and it really made the atmosphere on fire. They donned a rocker costume. A lady rocker costume. Some wore spiked neck collars and torn stockings which makes a total transformation from their cute image. Especially when the lyric translation is really spotted on with what I would call, naughty.
Actually this song is a perfect match with AKB48 theater stage which have multiple layers of level supported by hydraulic platform. Unfortunately, JKT48 theater stage doesn’t have that. So in the end, the members are just lay down on the stage floor.
The last MC session started with the members saying thanks for the encore call. Some of the members went back on stage while some filled in the MC session. The topic talked about was which of the costume they liked the most.
EN2. BINGO!
The most awaited song by the fans since it is one of the most familiar songs to them. The trainees donned a very colorful costume which reminds us to the PV itself.
Versi AKB48-nya bisa disimak di video berikut:
EN3. Boku no Taiyou (Matahari Milikku)
This song closed the show. Members still wearing the same costume. No confetti blast tho’.
Overall, I really like this new set-list. Just one show is not enough for me which then again, I’m pretty much sure it will take some effort seeing as how getting a ticket is really hard now. The trainees prepared for this set-list in three weeks with 8-12 hours a day of training. Compared to the old days when they needed 3 months just for Heavy Rotation, this is such an improvement.
““Boku no Taiyou” was first performed by Himawarigumi, a team that consist of members from Team A, Team K and Team B while waiting for their theater renovation.”
it was originally just Team’s A and K
Thank you for the correction!
Also, if I’m not mistaken, Juliette should be Juliet.
Ah, just “Juliet” ? without the “tte” ? Roger that, will do some correction . Thanks!
Juliette is an Indonesian Band…. fufufufu
great setlist!
I personally like awesome compositions like Viva Hurricane and Mirai no Kajitsu on this one.
another positive progress JKT48!
so.. now gen2 already mark their territory..
makes me personally more curious to see this setlist than rkj..
if they formed team K, me hope that there will be another AKB members transfered to them..
