Special Show April 22nd 2013 Report
Hello there we meet again for my series of Field Report, this time I want to write about what happen in the Heavy Rotation Special Theater Show on 22nd April 2013. The show itself was really great despite started very late due to some members stuck in the traffic.
Arrived at fx by 5 o’clock, assuming there’ll be so much crowded fans because the show will be filled by those who had won the lottery, exchange my ticket got green with bingo number 4, after grueling waiting time at 19.30 bingo started an lucky me my bingo number called second so I get to seat in green 3rd row again half an hour we waiting without any clue what will happen at 8 ‘o clock finally the show started.
The Screen appears and they played the video about JKT first Heavy Rotation Debut at Global TV and some member interview after that Overture played.
M1. Heavy Rotation
Akicha and Haruka really brings the mood up and they pulled out the other members ability to their maximum potential, chant by the crowd who frustrated waiting makes the atmosphere more lively
Jikoshoukai Session
Another video played, this time about Kimi no Koto ga Suki Dakara
Quick MC session + Kinal,Diasta, Jeje Jikoshoukai who is late. Melody apologized because not all team J members will perform due to the national exam and told the fans to pray for them.
M2.Kimi no Koto ga Suki Dakara
Akicha and Melody served as double center here, much much better than the one they performed at the anniversary concert, lucky me to get an double eye-lock from Haruka and Rica
M3.Ponytail no Chou Chou
I missed this song so much and I was very lucky to watch them again especially the “rambut panjang yang terkuncir, ikat polkadot shushu” part when Rica plays her hair in front of me and a part later Rena and Ghaida tried to get my attention by giving me an eye-lock which makes me very very surprised for a moment.
M4. Baby! Baby! Baby!
The performance is just the same as the one they did in Selebrita Awards this Saturday but the difference is that they are wearing their usual seifuku not the gold costume
Another Video about Shonichi + MC session from Sonya & Frieska
M5.Shonichi
A Performance which brings back memories watching them a year ago at pajama drive set-list and can’t believe how much they grow over a year, at this song Akicha and Haruka was replaced by Diasta-Jeje
MC session : How do you feel about Shonichi (the song)?
Highlight : Shonichi means a lot to them because it reminded them their early day when joining JKT with all the ups and downs, since the seifuku skirt looks very short, some of the members use Oogoe Diamond seifuku to cover it up
M6.Wasshoi J
Another song which make the crowd goes wild, at this song all members give the crowd their own fan service
M7.Oogoe Diamond
In this song Rica and Diasta replaced by Akicha and Haruka, the performed well and I must give applaud to Akicha for her getting better Bahasa.
MC Session : Impression about Renai Kinshi Jourei Setlist
Highlight : The members agreed that at first it was hard (especially melody and Stella who learned Kuroi Tenshi) but as time goes by they were getting better and sometimes Akicha and Haruka help them learned the routine
M8.Gomen ne Summer 7 (Akicha,Haruka,Kinal, Melody,Nabilah,Stella,Ve)
Solid Performace, Haruka teased Nabilah and Stella many times but still can back on track and done a perfect performance
MC Session (with Namida Surprise Seifuku) : Heavy Rotation album finally release, how the members felt about it
Highlight: They were proud, their hard work over a years paid off and having a good time promoting it everywhere across the country
M9.Namida Surprise
Funny song. This time Rica is back and and so is Sonya who replaced Frieska
M10.Hikokukigumo
Last song, the crowd ecstatically spin their lightstick and handkerchief. Member bring their own fan services to the fans. For me, Akicha is the best in this song
Encore: As usual but not as hard as it used to be, maybe because the audiences was less than the normal theater. After three times failing, the screen finally played a video and it was an announcement for JKT new single and senbatsu will be chosen and…
Haruka,Kinal,Jeje,Rena.Gaby,Melody,Rica,Nabilah,Akicha,Delima,Shania,Ve,Aya na,Dhike,Stella,Beby
Selected to be a senbatsu
and the new single is RIVER
En.1 RIVER Performed by the selected senbatsu with Ghaida, Cindy, and Sendy served as undergirls for the selected senbatsu who took the national exam (Ayana, Gaby, Shania)
The show ended by Hi Touch where I can congratulate Rena and Rica for making into the senbatsu.

Just curious, what is jot parameter when choosing the senbatsus?
And what about their performance on this river song?
The parameter could be “The prettier the better.” (In JOT point of view, of course) About their performance, I’m hoping they will be as cool as, or even more than SNH’s.
Did Kinal shout the 1st part such as “JKTTTTTTTTTTTTTT forty eight!”? How was their stump? Did Melo perform as Atsuko Maeda’s role? I’m so curious:)
From what I recall about their positions from some source I can’t remember :
Takamina – Kinal, Acchan – Melody, Jurina – Nabilah, Mayuyu – Rena, Yuuko(/Mariko?) – Akicha …
Plz CMIIW
Understandable. So did JOT announce they produce the 2nd (the 1st was “Hevi Rote” when their debut) MV of JKT48 as “River”? There are so many diffrent news in the Japanese fandom. It cannot to be clarified for me. If you cam, advise me.
The prettier the better in JOT point of view? From where did you get this prejudice bro? I don’t agree with you. I have 3 fav members who’s not elected to be part of senbatsu, and I’m sure it has nothing to do with their look.
Just kidding brother. That was my joke to annoy my bro Benimaru-san (Who was participated in King of Fighters). And the truth is: Yeah, ALL of them are damn beautiful as if they are Sailormoon’s new member. So, i’m sure as hell it had nothing to do with their look.
if there is a dude that dare to say one of those girls is ugly, there is a few probability; either that dude is gay, blind, or a complete dope..
I’m afraid the answer for that question is a mystery
Last year for Heavy Rotation PV, JOT also choose 16 members, and no one know about the parameter. Members that get highlights and more screen time in the first PV are Melody, Nabilah, Shanju, and Cleo.
It’s interesting to see that Rica, Delima, and Gaby are selected for River PV, because if I’m not mistaken in Hebirote PV they were not selected. From many theater reports thay I read recently, apparently those 3 are the members that improve the most. It means their hardwork all these year is paid-off. Good job girls
What?? Senbatsu? Was that for real? Was that THE Senbatsu as in they held in Japan? Or a local Senbatsu, perhaps? Man, JOT should give more devoted explanation about this. As a deterrent from more confusing chaos amidst fanbase. And maybe JOT also should use the Indonesian term for Senbatsu, such as “Pemilihan Umum” or “Nyoblos” , I suppose? Because, did JOT know there are a lot of our fine gentlemen (read: newbie fans, karbitan fans, zombies or whatever) who even didn’t know what Senbatsu is?
And one more thing. When it happens, to participate In Senbatsu, we have to vote, yes? So, the question is: “How?” Do we all have to buy a copy or more (“more” here means a hell lot of) of their new single (which won’t be cheap) for having the right to vote? Oh Sh*t , man! I think I’m gonna bankrupt for the sake of my oshii. Have to look fo’ mo’ money…….soon…..
You, my friend, would better learn more about the differences between Senbatsu, Senbatsu Sousenkyo, Senbatsu Janken Taikai … There are many Indonesian fansite out there that explain it clearly …
you must read this bro http://genderuwota48.com/2013/04/23/single-senbatsu-dan-fase-baru/
cmiiw,
senbatsu is the selected member to promote the single (they are members who will appear in PV or MV of that single and cover album), and its all management decision who will be the senbatsu member of a single, except senbatsu sousenkyo and senbatsu janken takai (like kagetora said). Sousenkyo refers to general election or “pemilihan umum”, that means (imo) senbatsu sousenkyo is a general election to vote/choose which member will be the senbatsu member. Then, janken takai refers to paper-scissor-rock tournament, that means senbatsu janken takai means (imo) a paper-scissor-rock tournament to choose which member will be the senbatsu member of a single (they usually called janken single, like eien pressure, ue kara mariko, and chance no junban).
the number of senbatsu members is also managements decision, it could be 7 (like gomen ne summer), 16 (mostly single) , 18 (like give me five, kaze wa fuiteiru), 21 (like flying get, hebirote), 26 (like ebikachu) or even 36 ( like manatsu no sounds good). but when they perform it on TV show, management usually just took 16 members.
*errrr, actually i’m not really sure which is literally true since i didn’t know japanese, is it senbatsu sousenkyo means the general election to choose senbatsu, or a senbatsu result of general election?
*sorry for my bad english
Well, I had already learnt. And looks like I had a mispronunciation between senbatsu elected member and senbatsu sousenkyo. For that, i apologize. I suppose that because my zombie friend always mentioned senbatsu sousenkyo simply as “senbatsu”, which means “election”. (Damn him! May he go to hell along with his false information). And yes, i thought it was a senbatsu sousenkyo because my logic told me there won’t be any senbatsu member if there isn’t a senbatsu sousenkyo, yes? As in, there won’t be a president if there isn’t a general election, right?
However, i still don’t know, though. They never mentioned anything about whether it has the same rules or not if it is held outside of Japan. Fortunately in this “Senbatsu Sousenkyo” we don’t have to vote. JOT had been generous enough to do it for us. That means my money is save…..for now.
Look, i know my knowledge isn’t the best. Even my Japanese never gets better since high school. But please, maybe it just hurts your eyes. However don’t get upset and fell free to correct me if i did some stupid mistakes like before. Because that’s the point of this site, i presume. People who knew tell other people who didn’t. Okay brother? Cool?
Nah, no problem bro… we made mistakes, and we might still will… I might be wrong in trying to explain this too, so if anyone here care to help me improve myself, don’t hesitate to correct me
Senbatsu is the line-up of performer, the end result of a selection process. The process it self is determined by producer / management before another form of process – Sousenkyo that involve fans’ vote and Janken Taikai that rely solely on luck – take places.
So basically we have this 16 members as JKT48 River Senbatsu members. They are the first officially announced Senbatsu – there might also be other unannounced Senbatsu for other songs : JKT48 Mirai no Kajitsu Senbatsu, JKT48 Gomen ne Summer Senbatsu, etc songs in the 1st Album.
Unless this single include voting ballots for next single, none of us will be broke because of Sousenkyo. Yet, we might still be broke for Handshake ticket. Either way, we will still be broke…
Clear and simple explanation. “Sugoiii!” KageTora san. BTW how about “Gome Sama” senbatsu? We call is as “Gome Sama Senbatsu” in Japanese fandum. Are the members chosen by JOT performing “Gomen Ne Summer”? Isn’t it also “River” senbatsu? Oh…”Senbatsu” for next single CD and also new MV. That is the big diffrence from “Gome Sama” senbatsu?
Soon after “Gomen ne Summer” debuted on Dahsyat RCTI, there was this circulating notion around some of JKT48’s fans that similar to the concept of Senbatsu. This was sparked by the fact that 6 out of 7 members that filled the line-up was featured on Nylon Magazine earlier.
Members that was featured on Nylon Magazine are Melody, Shania, Nabilah, Stella, Ve, Ayana and Ghaida. At that time, Ghaida’s physical condition prevented her to perform, so some fans speculated that Beby substituted her in Gome Sama debut. Some of them even went further by calling the 7 who were featured on Nylon magazine and supposedly filled Gome Sama line-up – if Ghaida was not absence – as JKT48 Kami 7.
Of course, this notions is always debatable. Furthermore, around that point there were some changes in 1st generations’ constellation :
1. Cleo’s graduation – she used to be one of the front girls with Melody and Shania. She was excluded from Gome Sama debut line-up. Some fans even suspected this was the one that sparked her to go into Graduation path.
3. Ghaida’s sudden graduation announcement seems to contribute to her exclusion from current River Senbatsu.
2. The presence of Akicha and Haruka – they haven’t yet effectively fill the line-up before RKJ Shonichi.
IMHO, the only valid (and final) Senbatsu is the one featured in their Album/Single. That makes Gome Sama Senbatsu are Melody, Shania, Nabilah, Akicha, Ayana, Haruka and Sonia. Stella seems to become Akicha’s under since she also substituted her in Oogoe. CMIIW.
Kagetora and Ganyabubrown did well explaining AKB48 Senbatsu Sousenkyo. Therefore I’ll just add few facts as the following:
FACT 1.
AKB48 Senbatsu Sousenkyo is the ONLY existing Senbatsu Sousenkyo which is held in order to decide the Senbatsu (the top 16 members) for AKB48 Sousenkyo single. PERIOD.
Put simply, it’s NOT for deciding the members who’ll participate in SKE, NMB, HKT, JKT, or SNH own singles! There’s no such thing as SKE48 Senbatsu Sousenkyo or even JKT48 Senbatsu Sousenkyo. I hope that’s simple enough to understand.
FACT 2.
The newest (June 2013) AKB48 Senbatsu Sousenkyo in Nissan Stadium will be held in a “candidacy system” in which all of the members who meet one of three conditions are eligible to stand as a candidate:
(1) The members in AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, and HKT48 (as of March 31, 2013),
(2) Former AKB48 members who transferred to the sister groups in overseas (Takajo Aki, Nakagawa Haruka, Suzuki Mariya, Miyazawa Sae), aka Team Kaigai,
(3) Former members who were a part of the AKB groups for more than 4 years in the past.
Based on the 1st and 2nd facts above, we can conclude that NO members of JKT48 & SNH48, EXCEPT members of Team Kaigai, can participate in AKB48 Senbatsu Sousenkyo. Somehow, I believe that rule will apply to this year Janken Tournament Senbatsu too.
The ONLY possibility of original members of JKT48 & SNH48 (non-Team Kaigai members) to participate in AKB48 single rests solely to the discretion and wisdom of AKB48 management (ONLY in Graduation or Summer or Common single aka non-Sousenkyo & non-Janken Tournament single). e.g: Melody in NEW SHIP song in GIVE ME FIVE! (Graduation) single.
As for JKT48 own single (such as RIVER cover and the next after that), the Senbatsu selection is and will always be conducted based on JKT48 Operational Staff own discretion and wisdom plus, of course, not forgetting the consideration of JKT48 Project Staff (Aki-P and other AKS guys).
That’s the only Senbatsu for you JKT48 fans (Unless you JKT48 fans want to unite and support Akicha in AKB48 Senbatsu Sousenkyo by voting for her).
Thanks for the report!
Unrelated but why do the Indonesians fans spell wota as vvota?
I don’t know, but to make it even more interesting, Indonesians used to pronounce V more closer to F than to W – which is clearly shown if you try to read katakana of these names : Devi Kinal Putri, Jessica Vania, Jessica Verranda
It was started as a joke. JKT48 fans in Indonesia did not come from otaku background only. Most of them came from various background. One of the fans came up changing the word WOTA to VVOTA , since they look a lil bit same if we don’t look closely (W and VV). Another words slip in to the local fandom was #KEN666ERIAN *notice the 666* , xKGNxBGTx (from Kangen Banget, Really Miss You) , #DemiNyai (from Demi Nyai, free translated as For The Sake of Who I Loved), “Siapalah saya ini, hhe…” (originated from a prominent Indonesian twitter figure, free translated as “Who am I since I’m not worthy , lol”, saying that he(the fans) was an usual fans, whose support don’t reach his oshi).. well too many
Ah so desu ka? … Eh? Why haven’t I hear #DemiNyai hashtag before? I used to tease my Oshimen Sendy with Nyai, refering to this Dangdut song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73Sic-NR6gg
Ah! I see. What does KEN666ERIAN means? Thanks for the rest of the explanation. That was really interesting.
That means “a real scare”, sir.
my opinion is because “V””V”ota love to “V”ote anything about JKT48
aah, i agree with this one
maan.. it’s become OOT, but still nice to read your comment guys
