Boku no Taiyou Surprise Shows

For more than a week, JKT48 theater only showed Boku no Taiyou (BnT) setlist by Team KIII. All Team J members and several trainees were practicing for the upcoming new setlist Dareka no Tameni. Just only for the past week, there were 8 BnT shows in a row.

To get fans excited there were few surprises along the way. Few members even hinted that. So what were the surprises?

On Tuesday, 7^th January 2014 after the show’s end, there was an extra song. It has many months since a theater’s show ended with a bonus performance. On that day, the screen rolled down, the new Pocari Sweat TVC starring Jennifer Hanna appeared. It was followed with the performance of JKT48’s new single “Manatsu no Sounds Good!” (Team KIII version) with Cindy Yuvia as center.

On 8^th-9^th January 2014 the surprise came in the show’s unit songs. For almost 6 months, there were no rotation members for each unit song. The usual senbatsu line-ups were:

• Idol Nante Yobanaide – Cindy Yuvia, Naomi, Sinka, and Nadila.
• Boku to Juliette to Jet Coaster – Rona, Natalia, and Acha.
• Higurashi no Koi – Tata and Ikha.
• Itoshisa no Defense – Noella, Yona, and Lidya.
• Himawari – Della, Hanna, Viny, and Octi (sometimes replaced with Uty).

During those 2 days, the line-ups were changed, so we could see a fresh take for each unit song (except Himawari):

• Idol Nante Yobanaide – Rona, Naomi, Sinka, and Nadila.
• Boku to Juliette to Jet Coaster – Tata, Natalia, and Acha.
• Higurashi no Koi – Noella and Ikha.
• Itoshisa no Defense – Cindy Yuvia, Yona, and Lidya.
• Himawari – Della, Hanna, Viny, and Octi (sometimes replaced with Uty).

The latest surprise was from last night’s show (12^th January 2014). There were 5 Team J members performed as unit songs’ guest stars. Last night’s line ups were:

• Idol Nante Yobanaide – Nabilah, Cindy Yuvia, Naomi, and Nadila.
• Boku to Juliette to Jet Coaster – Shania, Rona, and Natalia.
• Higurashi no Koi – Haruka and Tata.
• Itoshisa no Defense – Noella, Yona, and Lidya.
• Himawari – Della, Viny, Melody and Ve.

Though it seemed a fresh take on the song, each Team J members actually have performed the songs in previous JKT48 concerts. It was a sort of recollection on what’s happening in the past.

During the Himawari MC, Della and Viny asked Melody and Ve on how’s the preparation for the upcoming setlist Dareka no Tameni. Both Melody and Ve were excited to perform on the setlist’s shonichi, though they didn’t reveal on the date.

Another surprise happened during the song “Yuuhi wo Miteiruka?” As usual before the song, there was an MC session. Usually the MC was closed with Tata saying epilogue, then later followed by Cindy Yuvia saying the song’s intro. However, Cindy Yuvia went missing on that MC session.

Last night’s “Yuuhi wo Miteurika?” introduction was performed by Ve who’s entering the stage right after the MC session had finished. The song was not performed by Team KIII members, but by the single’s senbatsu version (Melody, Ve, Haruka, Nabilah, Shania, Naomi, Cindy Yuvia, Viny, Rona, and Natalia).

The theater show then closed with all Team KIII and J members came to the stage. The screen rolled down, showing a video of Team J members practicing Dareka no Tameni setlist. It was also announced that the setlist’s shonichi would be on 18^th January 2014.

Too bad all Team J members were not there during the handshake event after the show. It’s just the usual Team KIII members waiting on the exit door. Overall it’s a great show. A good take in upcoming theater’s setlist.
