Yup, this is the biggest migration in the world. Family is the most important for everyone, including for members….
I hope this moment become a new “fuel’ and “relaxation” for them.

MUDIK..Intresting :-o In Japan, we have “Obon” starting from Aug.13th to 15th. We say, during “Obon”, our ancester’s souls come back to our original house. So almost of all family memebes join at our original house to eat delicious food, more enjoy “Obon” dance, generally in the temple’s yard. After “Obon”, the souls came back to our house will be back the heaven. Every year they come back from heaven to our house

so, around this time Japan are having homecoming, Tomo-san ? Too bad that Haruka has to return earlier … it must be interesting to know what you all usually do in your homecoming.

        • Tomo says:

Kage Tora San. Many people think that main event during “Obon” period should be “Bon Odori (Obon Dance)”. You can know its image. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTVmolM3R8U. As you can see, “Bon Odori” is not hard-to-learn dance. Slow or middle tempo with routine coreograph. But during this dance festival (generally, organized by “Cho Nai Kai (Town or district internal comunity)”, the ties among all family members, from babies till 80 or 90 years old grabpa and ma and also among all neighbors (usually almost of all neighbors the same shrine’s childrens, so called “Ujiko”), the ties are tightened. Young committee have to serve all paticipants. Such as, for kids, prepare snacks and cadies, goldfish fishing game, for eldery (bosses. LOL) committees, serving “Sake (Traditional Rice Wine)” or beers. Their faces are red, even the time when we can see Sun as staright upforward from our head. Funny, but warm in Mid Summer. Come and Dance together  Yeah, I wish JKT48 sing and dance “Obon Dance” tune :-P

          • Tomo says:

By the way, can I enjoy “Hari Merdeka” on tomorrow with JKT48 like 2012? If so, I am so happy to see them on YouTube. In unversity yard or a park?

Ayana and Cigul took the risk of mudik-ing on wheels… which I’ve tried to avoid these days  I’d rather go by plane, although it’s rather dull.

Nice article. It’s really fun to know their mudik activities. Oh and nice pictures too!

  3. benimaru says:

  6. Haddad says:

Kinal actually goes to her father hometown and the source of her name, Desa Kinal or Kinal Village at Bengkulu Province in Sumatra Island.

  7. indr@ says:

Nice article dude, hopefully non-Indonesian fans could learn more about Indonesia and members’ hometown by reading this article..

Personally, I think JOT need to open audition for gen 3 outside of Java island..this is Indonesia, we need more members from Sumatra or east Indonesia, especially from Medan or Ambon which is known to have many good singers..

Btw, based on travel time it seems that Yogyakarta is further than Japan

  8. RKS says:

I never knew that Mudik is rooted from Udik, i thought Mudik is abv of Mulih Dhisik (Javanese) that mean to get home early.

And from her twitter post, Ayen was in Pandaan (Pasuruan) about 65 km away from Surabaya.
