JKT48 Theater Review: Wednesday, April 17th 2013

It is pretty rare for me reviewing a theater show, unless there’s really something special on that show, …What’s so special from the show on Wednesday, April 17th 2013:

1. The comeback of Diasta (Nyash). Diasta hasn’t performed in theater for about five months. This is her comeback show as well as her first appearance in Renai Kinshi Jourei setlist.

2. For the first time in Renai Kinshi Jourei setlist, trainee involved in the setlist not just as the backdancer. Maybe it’s because there’s some member of team J who, had to take the National Exam for those in senior high school, or preparing for the National Exam for those in junior high school

Me and my friends did not manage to get the green ticket with student price, so we had to buy the blue ticket. Though all this time I usually get to sit in the green seat, and just once I had to sit in the blue seat. But, it’s fine then… Forgot which entrance bingo that I got, sat on the sixth row. Well, not really bad for observing the show. The theater is really crowded. Total bingo numbers for the green ticket reached up to 15, while for the blue ticket it reached 17. Hence, there are a lot of people that had to stand. Even the waiting list is only for those who got indentity card from outside Jabodetabek.

The show began. Kageana/shadow announcer for that night was Gaby with her suave voice^^ Not long after that the overture, then Nagai Hikari solo by Stella. Been hearing her voice for umpteenth time, and always successful in making me shiver.

When every member had already entered the stage, my gaze instantly fixed to the 3 trainee. Whose position they’re replacing? And yes, I’m already guessed it right :)) You know, since I like to predicts which member in which unit song before I watch the show. After a few time, I’ve finally memorized all of them xD Okay, next.

Since on that night, Kinal doesn’t perform, Nagai Hikari without her is kind of hollow. I don’t know why, I just like her in this song. My attention directly fixed to Diasta. Well, in the beginning, she had looked nervous for a while. But she’s just go and beat it. Nice! Cool Soooo pretty^^ Enter the second song, Squall no aida ni. Now I’m focussed to Ve. She’s reeaaally stormy >.< Tata, Yona, and Yupi started the first two songs with good grades. The third song started with different seifuku, JK Nemurihime. And somehow, I saw Tata looks really matched with this seifuku. Hmmm...all members looked spirited until the fourth song. Well, good start from the girls! Finished with the fourth song, on to the introduction and MC session. Here we go... MC 1, topic: what is it that made you laugh lately?
Rica : When Sendy eats banana (I can’t hear it clearly since she’s in the far right, while I’m in the left side -,-)
Yupi : When She reads shinchan manga [TN: Crayon Shin-chan, a manga by late Yoshito Usui]
Beby : When performing Aitakatta in a live shows, she saw an audience on the front who is holding something that has just fallen, as it turns out, it was the pointy parts from Gaby’s heel shoes.
Haruka : When she calls her father, but she talks in Indonesia. that’s why her father can’t understand what she’s saying xD
Gaby : Laugh when she sees Ayana who is plain but kind of goofy :)) When she tells a story about some princess, Ayana is just nodding and agreeing, but when the story ends, she asked Gaby “what is a princess?” -,- “and who had higher caste position between a princess and a queen?” -,-
[TN: maybe it’s because Gaby said “Princess” in english, while for Bahasa Indonesia it’s “Tuan Putri”]
Rena : When she saw Dhike walking and suddenly stumbled. From crying until she laugh again (??)
Ve : When it’s raining, everybody is craving for bakso, then there’s a bakso peddlers walks past, Rica trying to call and running to catch him but suddenly slipped and fall :)) and because of Dhike, instead of helping Rica she’s just laughing it out LOL. When she tells this story, Ve’s just can’t stop giggling alone =))
Yona : Lately Tata looked like those auntie in Glodok since she likes to say “lu olang” :)) [TN: it means “You People”, while Glodok is Shopping center in the North Jakarta where the shop owner is dominated by Chinese descendant]
Ghaida : *even though she hasn’t started to tell a story yet, I already laughing out loud* She tells a story about Diasta who feels stiff, then she ask Diasta to go to massage parlor with her but it turns out Diasta had never get a massage before She said she’s afraid that it would tickles. Then when she’s actually get massaged, it really tickles, and she’s squealing like a strangled cat :p
Stella : She laughs when she sees Melody and Gaby got in a fight. Since Gaby is so sloppy, she likes to stumbles and nudging here and there unintentionally. While Melody is quick to anger, she scolds Gaby when she’s accidentally nudge her >.< But in the end they got better. And Melo is combing Gaby's hair :3 Tata : The story about Acha (trainee). She said, when Acha is scared, she and Yona approach her, trying to comfort her so that she’s not crying. There’s a watermelon beside Acha, then instead of crying she suddenly eats the watermelon (The audience forcefully had to laugh :p)
Nabilah : When She goes on a tour to few cities two weeks ago, there’s so many funny fans. She also likes to troll dan surprising them xD
Delima : Laugh when she saw Dhike playing with wigs, She’s waggling it around in her head when the wigs suddenly got thrown out of her hair (then she laughs alone and the audience forcefully had to laugh again :p)
Diasta : She laughs when she sees Ayana. *and I’m suddenly burst into laughter :))* She would laugh everytime she saw her since Ayana is plain and late-thinker xD
Sendy : She told us that when in warming-up session, there’s some members who couldn’t reach higher note :))
Cindy : When they’re in their temporary theater hall, Gaby’s leg got got stuck in a chair. it’s still won’t come out even though they’re already greasing it with oil. And suddenly it released by itself :)) Cindy is really funny when she tells this story lol :p

MC finished and next the unit song

Kuroi Tenshi: Beby, Gaby, Rica
All of them are loosely stretching their hair. Beby is super. Even though she hasn’t performing this for quite sometime after she got sick. Gaby is also cool. Rica aaa she’s so pretty >.< Kuroten performance: 8,5/10 Heart Gata Virus: Haruka, Rena, Cindy Yuvia (Yupi)
Yupi is really cuute >.< I'm sure that every audience gaze is directed at Yupi at that time. The shout for Yupi is really dominant that night. Well, Haruka and Rena is with their usual cuteness. And Yupi gave even more cute impression for this song. Perfect Yupi looks a bit nervous, but its covered by her cuteness^^ The solo line were performed by Rena. Hagavi performance: 9/10 Renai Kinshi Jourei: Stella, Veranda (Ve), Ghaida
Stella is with her mic on. As usual, Stella and Ve is really amazing. For Ghaida, this is her fourth times performing this unit song. The first three performance were at the end of February. Ghaida hasn’t performing this unit song for quite a while but instead she become even more cool. The usual earmic that they encountered didn’t happen at that night. At the solo dance part, Ghaida executed it well.
Renakin performance: 9/10

Tsundere: Nabilah, Sendy, Cindy
Sendy with her mic on. This the deafult formation for Tsundere unit song. Nebilah is just like usual, energetic. Cindy is also cool.
Tsundere performance: 8,5/10

Manatsu no Christmas Rose: Diasta, Tata, Delima, Yona
Diasta was so damn good at this unit song. So did Tata, Delima, and Yona. Everybody is radiating a cheerful aura…Graceful…Well, except Delima, the other three members is doing their debut in this song and they did their job really well
Backdancer: Vienny (Viny), Delia, Uty, Dena, Rachel, Vanka
Manatsu performance: 8,5/10

Finished unit song, enter the second MC session with topics: who is the dumbest member?

Yupi : Haruka, when I touched her hand she suddenly said “watch out! or my hand will fractured (?) [TN: whoah! Haruka, Jeje’s influence is really bad (or good) for your language skills]
Rica : Achan, Haruka, Rena. Since Achan is fake Japanese, Haruka is real Japanese, while Rena is depends-on-the-condition Japanese xP
Beby : Rena…and Haruka too :))
Gaby : Achan, since she is dumbly plain =))
Rena : everybody isn’t that smart either :)) LOL

Suddenly Beby changes the topics of the MC…

Beby : Yupi, did you feel nervous performing in RKJ setlist?
Yupi : *standing in the middle of team J members* I’m nervous….(with her cute style :3) [TN: even from just reading this report I could imagine how cute it was >.<] Beby : how does it feel to perform with us? :))
Yupi : Haruka says, Yupi in Hagavi nooo LOL :))

MC finished, on to the next song: Switch. Well, in this song, my gaze directed to Tata. Tata really managed to get the spirit, expression, and dance of this song. Yona is also cool. In Switch song, Haruka’s mic got turned off, that why when it’s her turn to sing, her voice didn’t come out. Started from switch, every songs performed live. Until Hikoukigumo, their performance is really good.

Only Yupi that looked like still estimating the blocking and haven’t memorized perfectly the lyrics yet. For a few times, the other member tries to help her. Well, it’s okay, Yupi :”)

After Hikoukigumo, the third MC session with topics: Your experience at National Exam and your tips in dealing it

Diasta : Study more. her only tips is to study, but don’t make it become so stressful. take a refreshing session once in a while by watching theater xD
Rena : I’m smart, I could pass the UN :)) tips from Rena: sleep
Stella : *she was just started to say “while I…” when Haruka suddenly cuts “quickly!” :)) I just review a little bit of the test objects, don’t force yourself to study everything in just one night [TN: Stella said “SKS, Sistem Kebut Semalam” which literally means forcefully learn everything in just one night]
Ghaida : Listening to metal songs so that she doesn’t feel sleepy while studying. tips: don’t believe in those leaked answer key. [TN: while the National Exam is a serious business and a national matter, there’s always some individuals that’s trying to gain some profit by spreading leaked answer keys and what’s worse, some school even take part in spreading it]
Yona : Her tips is to take care of your health, eat a lot, and join some learning course
Nabilah : Do not believe those leaked answer keys (one heart with Ghiada xP)
Delima : Study, pray to your God and oshimen :))
*while the MC session is taking places, Diasta is hugging Rena, both of them is too occupied with each other^^* [TN: Had to slap my own face a few times to send me back into the real world after reading this part (>.<)] Geby : Listening to some music, and then back studying.
Haruka : I’m smart that’s why my grades are great (alright, alright, as you wish then :p)
*In this MC session, Yona is really calm, but she could fit with team J members very well. good job!*

Swap with the other member with the same topics. The talks started from the oldest member to the youngest member xD
Rica : She’s studying with her siblings for the National Exam
*when she talks, somebody abruptly said that Yupi is Yupi Candy, while Cigul is Gulas Candy xD then Rica said “that means Sendy is Gum Candy since she could stretch so wide LOL” :))*
[TN: Yupi and Gulas is a brand of candy that sold here]
Sendy : She’s study in a group
Veranda : Her generation at junior high school is “experiment” generation, since it’s the first time that the exact and nature subjects included into the test that she could only accepted it. Fortunately, her grade is good.
Tata : She sat on the backmost row, and got eyelock-ed by the exam supervisor xD
Cindy : She comes late to the exam place, and forgot to bring her pencils and had to borrow it from friends. She said, don’t make the exam preparation become too stressful. Since you’re already study for three years, if you’re paying attention when you’re in class, you should’ve had some confidence
Beby : She doesn’t believe in those leaked answer keys she had to go back and forth between Bandung and Jakarta when it’s nearing the National Exam. Finally she’s passed^^
Yupi : *the audiences abruptly said she’s a student of technical high school, and then Sendy asks whether she’s really technical high school student or not :))* Yupi said she didn’t studying at all for the National Exam
[TN: Technical High School is in the same degree with standard Senior High School. But, since the lack of educational tools, Technical High School in Jakarta is also associated with the act of machoism, anarchy, and delinquency by their students. And the jokes here come from one twitter user that said underneath those plain and lolita persona, Cindy Yuvia is a delinquent and anarchyst who goes to technical high school XD]

MC’s finished, to the last songs: Ana Koro no Sneaker. Finished, then encore with member call “Diasta” as a sign of appreciation for her comeback. The encore organized really well, good job!

Enters JKT Sanjou, then Namida no Shinkokyuu, and the last one, Oogoe Diamond. Overall, member’s stamina is well reserved. Until the last song, their performance is really satisfying:D Credit to Diasta, Tata, Yona, and Yupi. They managed to answer some doubts with a great performance. Well done!
