Sandy (Host) : Can you explain what JKT48 is? Is it a vocal group with a permanent formation and how much really is the members in total?
Kiki (Host) : Is it 48 members as the name implied?
Sonya : JKT48 is an idol group, a sister group from its Japanese counterpart, AKB48. We have the concept of “Idol You Can Meet” in which fans can easily meet us as in they’re growing together with us, from zero to now. We also have a lot of variety for our songs formation, there are some songs that required 12 or 16 of us and there’re also songs that only required like 7 members. We can take Gomen ne Summer as an example for that.
Beby : Currently we have 52 members combined from the first generation, second generation and two members transferred over from AKB48
Sandy : From AKB48? Do they joined you girls or do they here just for a couple of show?
Sonya & Beby : They joined us. Haruka and Akicha.
Sandy : Haruka and Akicha?
Sonya : Yes
Sandy : And both of them are AKB48 members?
Sonya : They were AKB48 members
Sandy : Were? Do they live in Jakarta now?
Sonya & Beby : Yes
Sandy : So currently, both of them are JKT48 members
Sonya & Beby : Yes
Sandy : I see. So they are here just for a part of a concert or tour?
Sonya : Nope. On the contrary, they are a part of our family now.
Beby : Transferred over.
Sandy : I see. Can they speak Bahasa yet?
Sonya : Umm.. A little bit
Beby : They still learning. But they’re getting more fluent in each and every day.
Sonya : Yeah, not bad at all.
Sandy : How long have they stayed here?
Sonya : (To Beby) I wonder how long..
Beby : From…uh..November?
Sonya : A couple of months back
Sandy : (Counting the months) Around 4 months.
Beby & Sonya : Yes
Sandy : May I know the system for your audition?
Sonya : When I first..
Sandy : Are you the first generation or the second?
Sonya : I’m first.
Sandy : And what year was that?
Sonya : Umm..2010
Sandy : Okay 2010, and the second generation?
Sonya : 2012.
Beby : (To Sonya) (First gen is) 2011!
Sonya : AH YES! *Laugh*
ALL : *Laugh*
Sonya : I’m sorry! I really am sorry! *laugh*
Sandy : So your generation is 2011, what month? I hope you remember
Sonya : November
Beby : We were formed at November, 2nd.
Sonya : But we did the audition long before that.
Sandy : And 2nd Generation was at 2012? 2013?
Beby : 2012
Sandy : So I assumed that you will have new generation for each year?
Sonya & Beby : Perhaps
Beby : There’s a possibility for new generation each year, but there’s no further information about this.
Kiki : If there’s another audition this year, I will submit my registration form for sure
Sandy : AHAAAAAAAAI! NO! NO! Don’t you ever think about it!
[The host asking the girls to say their Hi to the listeners]
Sandy : All these years, Kiki is the most beautiful girl in our studio, but this time with Beby and Sonya here….
Kiki : The JKT48 girls really punch me out of the picture
Sandy : She’s totally out of the picture!
Kiki : I’m really out of the picture from every aspect…
Sandy : What is the requirement for joining JKT48? Is there any minimal requirement for height?
Sonya : Nope, there’s no such requirement for height.
Beby : You’ll have to be between 13-18 years old
Kiki : There! I’m still in that range!
Sandy : You’re 29!
Kiki : Says who?
Sandy : Any requirement for singing ability?
Beby : Nope. The very first time we were formed, we have those who can’t sing and can’t dance. That’s the very main reason we have something called “Growing together with fans.” Fans could see and feel our growth over time.
Sandy : Whoa there. Say, there’s a lot of girls joining in for the audition and there’s a lot of competition there. You can’t dance, you can’t sing, you’re not out?
Sonya : Well, can’t sing doesn’t mean that you’re totally out of tune. Let’s say not as good as a trained singer.
Sandy : I see.
Kiki : They have 1200 participant in the audition
Sandy : Holy…and you only took 52 members?
Sonya : The first generation took like..
Beby : 28 members
Kiki : 28, awesome. These girls were all the chosen one.
Sandy : Sonya, do you remember all the members name? let us just say, the first generation.
Sonya : Of course!
Sandy : 2nd Generation?
Sonya : Not yet *laugh*
ALL : *laugh*
Sonya : But..but.. I’m currently in the process of knowing them, I already remember some of their name.
Sandy : You often performing together with them?
Sonya : Not as much as we interacted with them back stage. We often jokes with them, sharing our stories. Sometimes and at first they kind of afraid in approaching us, but we always try to hug them and the first to start a conversation with them. And within time, they started to be more open with us. So there’s no awkwardness between us actually.
Beby : We also have some events where we performing together. All the 52 of us.
Sandy : I see. Is there any “Heey How are you!….who is that again?” moment? *laugh*
ALL : *laugh*
Beby : No *laugh* not really *laugh*
Sandy : It’s okay to tell the truth since it’s normal. I mean, 52 members? I’ve been here for like 8 years, and I don’t even remember all the workers here
Sonya : Well…yeah..but not really like that *laugh*
Sandy : You girls are all such a beaut, you can sing, you can dance. But is it true that all your songs is the translated version of AKB48 songs?
Beby : Yes
Sandy : Why don’t you have your own original song? You girls already in a good hands, added with the fact that you girls now have a (recording) label contract. So why is there no original song?
Sonya : Well, we are AKB48 sister group to begin with and We were the youngest among all.
Sandy : Were?
Sonya : Yes, we have Shanghai now.
Beby : Shanghai (SNH) 48
Sandy : I see. But did you girls know that AKB48 is indeed not the oldest among your sisters?
Sonya and Beby : Huh?
Sandy : We have one in Bandung called 4848 [TN : A Taxi/Shuttle service in Bandung]
Sonya & Beby : *laugh*
サンディ（ホスト）：まずJKT48について説明してくれませんか？定められたフォーメーションでパフォーマンスするボーカル・グループということでいいのかな？いったい全部で何人いるの？
キキ（ホスト）：名前の通り48人なの？
ソニャ：JKT48はアイドルグループなんです。日本にあるAKB48の姉妹グループで、「逢いにいけるアイドル」というコンセプトで、ファンは私たちと簡単に会うことが出来るし、一緒に成長して行こうということなんです。ゼロから始めてここまで来ました。歌もフォーメーションもバラエティに富んでいて、12人から16人でやる場合もあれば、7人だけでやることもあるの。「ごめんねサマー」なんかそう。
ベビー：一期生と二期生合わせていまは全部で52人います。AKB48から2人移籍して来ました。
サンディ：AKB48から来たの？メンバーになったということ？それともなにかのショーに出るためにやって来たの？
ベビー・ソニャ：私たちのメンバーになりました。はるかとあきちゃです。
サンディ：はるかとあきちゃ？
ソニャ：はい。
サンディ：2人ともAKB48のメンバーなの？
ソニャ：AKB48のメンバーでした。
サンディ：でした？ということはいまはジャカルタに住んでるの？
ソニャ・ベビー：はい。
サンディ：じゃあ、いまは2人ともJKT48のメンバーなんだ。
ソニャ・ベビー：はい。
サンディ：なるほど、じゃあ2人はこっちでコンサートとかツアーの手助けに来てるんだね。
ソニャ：違うんです。そうじゃなくって、もう私たちのファミリーの一員なの。
ベビー：完全に移籍してきたの。
サンディ：そうなんだ。もうインドネシア語喋れるの？
ソニャ：そうね、少しづつ、
べビー：いま勉強中なんだけど、どんどん上手になってます。
ソニャ：そう、全然悪くないわよ。
サンディ：いつからこっちに来ているの？
ソニャ：（ベビーに向って）いつ頃からだっけ？
ベビー：えーと、いつからだっけ？11月？
ソニャ：数ヶ月前から。
サンディ：（指折り数えて）4ヶ月くらいだね。
ベビー・ソニャ：そうですね。
サンディ：オーディションについて説明してくれない？
ソニャ：最初に私が・・・
サンディ：君は一期？それとも二期？
ソニャ：一期です。
サンディ：何年にあったの？
ソニャ：えーと、2010年かな
サンディ：OK,2010年ね。じゃ、二期生は？
ソニャ：2012年
ベビー：（ソニャに）2011だよ！
ソニャ：あ、そうだった（笑）
みんな：（笑）
ソニャ：ごめんなさい！ほんとごめん（笑）
サンディ：君たちは2011だね、何月だったの？覚えてたら、
ソニャ：11月
ベビー：11月2日に結成したの。
ソニャ：でもそれまでに長いオーディション期間がありました。
サンディ：で、二期生は2012年、13年だっけ？
ベビー：2012年です。
サンディ：じゃあ、毎年新しい世代が入ってくるということだね？
ソニャ・ベビー：たぶんそう。
ベビー：毎年新しい世代が入ってくる可能性はあるけれど、はっきりとは私たちも知らないんです。
キキ：今年またオーディションがあるなら、絶対受けちゃうわ！
サンディ：うははははは！なんてことを、勘弁してよ！
サンディ：キキはずっとこのスタジオの一番の美人の地位を維持してきました。でも今日は、ベビーとソニャが来てくれたので・・・
キキ：こんなJKT48の女の子達が来たら、私の出る幕なくなっちゃうわ。
サンディ：ほんと出る幕ないよ～
キキ：ボロ負けだもん・・・
サンディ：JKT48に入るのには何か規定があるの？身長だとか？
ソニャ：いいえ、身長なんかも関係ないわ。
ベビー：１３歳から18歳まででないとだめなんです。
キキ：じゃあ私まだ大丈夫よ！
サンディ：君は２９だろ？
キキ：誰がそんなこと言ったのよ？
サンディ：歌唱力は条件なんだろう？
ベビー：違うの。結成された最初の頃はね、私たち歌も踊りも出来なかったの。これが「ファンとともに成長する」ということなの。ファンのみんなは、私たちを見て、一緒に成長を実感して行くんです。
サンディ：そうなんだ！でも、すごい沢山の女の子たちがオーディションに参加するから、競争もすごいんだろう？ダンスも歌も全く出来なかったらな、話にならないじゃないの？
ソニャ：歌やダンスがダメでも、という意味はちょっと違って、いまはプロみたいに上手くなかってもということです。
サンディ：分かった
キキ：オーディションには1200人応募があったのよね。
サンディ：すごいね、それで52人だけ？
ソニャ：一期生の時はね・・・
ベビー：28人でした。
キキ：28人だけ、すごい。みんな難関を突破した人なのね。
サンディ：ソニャに聞くけど、メンバーの名前は全部言えるのかい？一期生だけでも、ソニャ：もちろん！
サンディ：二期生はどう？
ソニャ：まだダメ（笑）
みんな：（笑）
ソニャ：でも、でもね、いま一所懸命覚えてる最中なの。だいぶ覚えたわ。
サンディ：二期生ともよく一緒に公演したりするの？
ソニャ：あまり多くないけど、楽屋ではよく会うわ。お喋りをしたり冗談を言い合ったりね。最初の頃は、私たちのことをちょっと怖がってたみたいだけど、こっちから話し掛けたり、ハグしてあげたりしてるうちに、みんなどんどん打ち解けてきたわ。いまはとっても仲がいいです。
ベビー：イベントに一緒に出ることもあるし、52人全員で出たときもあるのよ。
サンディ：なるほどね、「はい、元気！・・・えーっといまの誰だっけ？」みたいな（笑）
みんな：（笑）
ベビー：そんなことないわよ（笑）あんまりね（笑）
サンディ：大丈夫だよ。当たり前のことだよ。だって52人でしょう？僕はここで8年間もやってるけど、まだ全部のスタッフの名前覚えきれていないもの。
ソニャ：あらそう、でも私たちそこまでじゃないわ（笑）
サンディ：みんなとても綺麗でし歌もダンスも出来るし。そうだ、歌は全部AKB48の翻訳だというのは本当なの？
ベビー：はい。
サンディ：オリジナルソングは出さないの？みんなもう上達してるし、レコード会社と契約したんでしょう？なのになぜオリジナルソングがないの？
ソニャ：そうですね、私たちはAKB48の姉妹グループとしてスタートしたんですけど、姉妹グループでは一番若かったんです。
サンディ：若かったというのは？
ソニャ：ええ、この前上海に出来たから。
ベビー：上海48です。
サンディ：なるほど、でも、AKB48も一番古いわけじゃないって知ってた？
ソニャ・ベビー：え？
サンディ：バンドンにあるじゃない。4848というのが（訳注：バンドンのタクシー会社の名前）
ソニャ・ベビー：（笑）

Sandy : I think I was born way too fast…Anyway we still have our friends here from A…JKT48. I almost said AKB
Kiki : You are as old as these girls father.
Sandy : Hell no! Sonya, how old is your dad?
Sonya : 60 years old
Sandy : There! a big gap with my age *laugh* . Beby?

Beby : Theater

Sonya : Almost

Sonya : Well, we have the 2nd generation now, so we do two different shows. Like today is the first generation and the next day the second generation. So we have some break time now.
Sandy : So you do the same performance or?
Beby : We the first generation have “Renai Kinshi Jourei” as our set-list.
Sandy : Wait what? Renaikin?
Beby : Renai Kinshi Jourei
Sandy : And I believe that is Japanese?
Beby : Yes, the meaning is “Aturan Anti Cinta”

Beby : Before we got this “Renai Kinshi Jourei” as our set-list, we also did the “Pajama Drive” one.
Sandy : I see, so this two set-list is your main show
Sonya : Yep
Sandy : So, does it have different contents or..
Beby & Sonya : The same
Sandy : And the songs?
Beby & Sonya : The same
Sandy : Although it does have different members
Sonya & Beby : Yes

Sonya : Yes. For an example, I’m busy today, someone else could replace me.

Sandy : And Sonya, are you still in high school or are you in college now?
Sonya : I’m still in high school now, 2nd grade. (International : 11th grader)
Sandy : in Jakarta?
Sonya : Yes

Beby : High school, first grade in Bandung (International : 10th grader)
Sandy : First grade? then why are you even bigger than Sonya?
Beby & Sonya : *laugh*

Sonya : Is that a trick question? I’m fatter than Beby! *laugh*

Kiki : So Beby, you lived in Bandung. Is that required you to go back and forth Jakarta – Bandung or did you stay in Jakarta?
Beby : I stay in Jakarta if it is weekend. While weekdays or any other days, I’m in Bandung.
Sandy : What about performing in Weekdays?
Beby : Well, for the show, I went to Jakarta even if it Weekdays.
Sandy : And you do the audition in Jakarta?
Beby : Bandung
Sandy : So you do the audition in Bandung?
Beby : Yes
Sandy : May I know which places did the audition for JKT48?
Sonya : I was called back then to join the audition. So yeah, in Jakarta.
Kiki : How many are you girls originated from Bandung?
Beby & Sonya : A LOT! *laugh*
Sandy : Then why there’s no BDG48?
ALL : *laugh*
Sandy : Is there any categorization for the members? Like, this one is the headliners, this one is the substitute or do you spread it evenly between members. Say, there’s a show tomorrow in Surabaya, all of you 52 girls get ready to go!
Sonya : Of course not! *laugh* Maybe like 16 will go
Beby : Yes, 16
Sandy : I mean, if you girls got a chance to perform in say, Makassar. 16 will go and usually how many songs is in you list for a show?
Beby : Usually 5 songs
Sandy : And all of that is the AKB48 translated songs?
Sonya & Beby : Yes
Kiki : Which show really left a big impression on you? Let’s say…Sonya
Sonya : Tokyo Dome, They have such a big stage.
Sandy : The real Tokyo Dome in Tokyo?
Sonya & Beby : Yes!
Sandy : All of the members or just 16?
Sonya & Beby : Just 16
Sandy : Do you remember the list of the JKT48 girls who joined the Tokyo Dome one? What was your departure date?
Kiki : *laugh*
Sandy : Answer! answer! answer!
Sonya & Beby : Uh..ummm August? August? but who went? uh.. *laugh*
Sandy : You told me earlier you remember all your 1st gen friends!
Sonya : Well Yeah, but we kinda forgot which of us went there
Sandy : Kinda? So when was your departure date and you’re invited for your own show or AKB48 show?
Beby & Sonya : AKB48 show
Sandy : AKB, from all around the world?
Sonya : Umm..
Beby : All of their sister groups.
Sandy : Oh, all of their sister groups were invited
Beby : But unfortunately there’s still no Shanghai at that time…
Sandy : How many countries are there for the sister groups?
Beby : We are the first overseas one actually
Sonya : Yes, Indonesia
Beby : So we have AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, HKT48 in Japan. We are the first outside of Japan.
Sandy : I see, so JKT48 is the first outside of Japan.
Kiki : So you girls have songs like Heavy Rotation or Baby!Baby!Baby. Do you all sing in this song or just 16 members?
Beby : 16 members
Kiki : I see
Sandy : Can you girls sing some for us please?
Sonya : Well, while we have Beby here, let’s sing Baby!Baby!Baby!
Sandy : Okay!

ベビー：劇場があるの。
キキ：ほんとに毎日なの？
ソニャ：ほとんどね。
サンディ：ほとんど毎日？
サンディ：ショーごとにメンバーは交代するの？
ソニャ：そうですね、二期生が出来たから二つショーをやってます。例えば、今日が一期生なら明日は二期生みたいに。だから休めるようになりました。
サンディ：公演の中身は同じなの？
ベビー：私たち一期生は「レンアイキンシジョウレイ」というセットリストをやってます。
サンディ：待った、何だって？「レナイキン」？
ベビー：「レンアイキンシジョウレイ」です。
サンディ：それ日本語だよね。
ベビー：そう、「恋愛禁止条例」という意味です
サンディ：恋愛監視条例ね。
ソニャ：「禁止」！
サンディ：ソニャが怒った～
キキ：（笑）
ベビー：禁止！
ソニャ：禁止！
サンディ：それ、僕が最初に言ったやつじゃないの？監視？禁止？
ソニャ・ベビー：（笑）禁止です！
サンディ：禁止ね、分かったよ。
ベビー：二期生のほうは、「パジャマ・ドライブ」というセットリストをやってるんで
す。
サンディ：「パジャマ・ドライブ」ね、パジャマってピヤマ（インドネシア語）のこと
だね。
ベビー：私たちも「恋愛禁止条例」の前にこの「パジャマ・ドライブ」やってたんです。
サンディ：なるほど、この二つのセットリストがメインなんだね。
ソニャ：そう。
サンディ：じゃ、セットリストの中身は日によって違うの、それとも・・・
ベビー・ソニャ：同じです。
サンディ：歌も同じなの？
ソニャ・ベビー：同じです。
サンディ：メンバーは違うんだね。
ソニャ・ベビー：はい。
サンディ：メンバーはシャッフルするわけだ。
ソニャ：はい、例えば私が今日忙しければ、誰かが代ってくれます。
キキ：そうなのね！
ソニャ：はい、他にも、学校のスケジュールが詰まってきた時にも、やっぱり代ってもらえます。
キキ・サンディ：なるほどね。
サンディ：ソニャはいま高校？大学生なの？
ソニャ：まだ高校です。2年生。
サンディ：ジャカルタの？
ソニャ：そうです。
キキ：ベビーは？
ベビー：高校です、バンドンの。いま1年生。
サンディ：一年生？じゃあなんでソニャより背が高いの？
ベビー・ソニャ：（笑）
サンディ：何食べてるんだい？
ソニャ：それ私に言ってるの？はいはい私はベビーより太ってます！（笑）
みんな：（笑）
キキ：ベビーはバンドンよね。バンドンとジャカルタを移動してるの。それともこっちにいるの？
ベビー：週末はだいたいジャカルタにいます。ウィークデーなんかはバンドンです。
サンディ：ウィークデーの公演なんかはどうするの？
ベビー：そうですね、ショーがある時はウィークデーでもジャカルタに出てきます。
サンディ：オーディションはジャカルタで受けたの？
ベビー：バンドンです。
サンディ：え、バンドンでオーディションを受けたのかい？
ベビー：はい。
サンディ：JKT48のオーディションはどこでやったの？
ソニャ：私が呼ばれたのは、ジャカルタのオーディションでした。
サンディ：バンドン出身のメンバーは何人いるの？
ベビー・ソニャ：沢山！（笑）
サンディ：じゃ、BDG48にしたらいいのに？
みんな：（笑）
サンディ：メンバーは分かれているの？前と後ろみたいな。それともみんな平等なのかな。まあいいか、明日、スラバヤでショーがあるよね。52人みんなで行くんだな！
ソニャ：全然違います！（笑）たぶん16人で行くことになるわ。
ベビー：そう、16人ね。
サンディ：じゃあ、マッカサルでショーをやるとするじゃない、16人で行くわけだね。
何曲くらい歌うの？
ベビー：いつも5曲くらいかな。
サンディ：全部、AKB48から訳した歌なの？
ソニャ・ベビー：そうです。
キキ：いままでで一番印象に残ってる公演は何？ソニャはどう？
ソニャ：東京ドームです。ものすごく大きな舞台だったわ。
サンディ：ええ！東京ドームって、本物の？東京にある？
ソニャ・ベビー：そうよ！
サンディ：みんなで行ったのかい、それとも16人で？
ソニャ・ベビー：16人でした。
サンディ：じゃあ、じゃあ、東京ドーム公演に参加したメンバーを覚えてるかい？そうだ！出発した日とかも？
キキ：（笑）
サンディ：教えてよ、教えて、教えて！
ソニャ・ベビー：えーと、えーと8月だったけ？8月かな。でも誰が行ったんだろう（笑
）
サンディ：さっき、一期生なら全部言えるといったじゃないか！
ソニャ：そうだけど、でも忘れちゃったみたい。
サンディ：なんと！忘れたちゃったって？じゃあ出発日だけでも教えてよ。自分たちの
公演だったの？それどもAKB48の公演に参加したということ？
ベビー・ソニャ：AKB48の公演でした。
サンディ：世界中から集まったの？
ソニャ：えーと・・・
ベビー：姉妹グループは全部。
サンディ：すごい！姉妹グループは全部呼んでもらえたんだ。
ベビー：でも、まだあの時は上海はなかったの。
サンディ：姉妹グループは何カ国にあるの？
ベビー：私たちが一番最初なんだけど、
ソニャ：インドネシアが最初。
ベビー：日本には、AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, HKT48があって、私たちは日本以外では初めてなの。
サンディ：そうなんだ。日本以外ではJKT48が最初なんだ！
キキ：ヘビー・ローテーションとかBaby!Baby!Baby!とかは16人で歌ってるの？
ベビー：16人です。
キキ：そうなんだ。
サンディ：ちょっとだけでも歌ってよ、お願い。

It was a localized joke so yeah, I for one was born and raised in Medan until I wander aimlessly as a street musician in Depok for the past couple of years (or in Indonesian would be “Ngamen”). So I pretty much blind about Bandung topography or hangout spots

I think you talked about Garou Densetsu (1991) a.k.a Fatal Fury in US. And AoF a.k.a Ryuko no Ken (1992)? That was awesome.(Man! How could I forget those jaw-dropping Haoh Shoh Ko Ken!). Above all, getting old is not that bad, isn’t it? Because we all know It’s forbidden to date JKT48 member, so you can take one of them as your daughter, can’t you? (As far as i know Golden Rules never mention anything about “daughter”.
