JKT48 Photosets Review Part 1 : 1st JKT48 Photopack

The first photosets were sold during the event of JKT48 PV Launching Session in fX Sudirman in Januari 2012. Since then, the photosets were sold during JKT48 off-air performances. There was still some reprint sold during JKT48 1st Stage in May 2012. It was sold in paper envelope contained 5 photos, one of them was a group photo. The price were IDR 40.000 (roughly USD 4) per pack. Indonesian fans usually called it “Photopack Merah” or “Red Photosets” because in this release the members wore the red costume.

Let’s take a look, here is a sample of my collection, the picture of Melody Nurramdhani Laksani. She’s wearing the Red-and-White costume, which were their first costume, being weared during AKB48 Kouhaku Taikai Uta Gassen, which is their first public performance to Japanese public. It’s only have one pose for each member.

These photosets are actually not really popular at first. Some reason were :

1. Its size was not like the standard AKB48 Photosets size were. It’s bigger (4R , which is 10 x 15 cm), which means it’s not fit in the usual 3R (9 × 13 cm) photo albums. SOme fans buy 4R photo albums to deal with it.

2. The quality. Some people complained about it. But I myself find nothing wrong. But there’s some misprinted photos, for example one Sendy Ariani’s photo came out with the name Delima Rizky below it. If someone have a photo of that kind of misprinted photos please comment below so I can included it in this post.

3. At that time (January-April 2012) , JKT48 were not really popular. Therefore, the swag-collecting hobby was not really common then.

But this release had some production code printed on the backside of the photo. I considered this as a way to prevent counterfeit photos. Unfortunately, recent releases have none of the production code anymore. This was also the only photosets that included JKT48 Graduate Members, Allisa Astri and Fahira.

Since the 1st Photosets are all out of prints, some people who buy them in bulks are now lucky. The price for a piece of photo are now rising high, from IDR 50.000 (roughly USD 5) to IDR 200.000 (roughly USD 20) for ONE photo, depending on the popularity of the member.
