JKT48 Charity Event Field Report
8:24 PM the show starts with a video about the heavy flood that attacked Jakarta, the clips were mainly taken from YouTube, the atmosphere is touching…
– Song 1
After the video, the members came up and start singing Boku no Sakura, all of them were very good in singing this song. A little bit difference is that Ve is now without her bangs and Sonia wear a big hipster glasses.
The lineup :

Due to the atmosphere and how solemn the song was, the audiences already clapping their hand far from the song ending, and keep clapping until the song ends.
– MC 1
The lead MC is the captain, Kinal. All the members having a hard time to smile. After a short briefing from Kinal, Jeje and Sonya told their experience with the flood, since both of them were the victims of the flood itself.
All the lights were off, only a small spotlight that shines on both Jeje and Sonya on stage, it was a dark atmosphere. Then Jeje starts to told her story
Jeje
We were all used to see how cheerful and talkative Jeje is. But this time, it was none to be found.
Jeje told us that she went to the school and pretty much sure that her house is safe from the flood since they never had flood before for years. At her school, she received a message from her parents that she couldn’t come home for a while since her house already flooded for about a meter and half or more. Her parents told her to stay at her school or find a place to take refuge.
Jeje couldn’t believe it at first but a picture of her house flooded shocked her. Jeje’s house is placed on a pretty high ground and fortunately the flood doesn’t reach her house 2nd floor where her family help five family (which house is completely drowned by the flood) taking a refuge at the house 2nd floor. Jeje’s grandmother had to be evacuated by the Search and Rescue team at around 3 PM.
When the flood receded and she could come back home, she shocked to see that her piano is totally broken, the mud reached 7 inches and her room is destroyed.
Jeje also told that the flood is very near to her 17th birthday, she really upset with the fact that her 17th birthday turned out to be the worst birthday she ever had. She really wants her birthday to be celebrated with her family, but after the flood, she erased all her plans for her family sake.
Jeje often stopped her story for a seconds or more to hold her tears, fortunately Sonya is there as a shoulder to cry on.
Sonya
When Sonya wakes up, the water had reached approximately 3 inches. Her family took the initiative to prepare for the worst by having as much clean water as possible and stored it in bucket or any other means available.
The next day, the water reached 15 inches inside her house and Sonya had to live without any electricity for four days and surviving with limited supply of clean water and food.
Sonya said she kept herself grateful since the flood inside her house is not that much compared to those who house have drowned by the flood. She was hoping there will be no more heavy flood in Jakarta for the next years to come.

All the members sang the song live, those with more solos line were Nabilah, Shania, Stella, Sonia and Sendy. Sendy really shows her prowess here with her amazing voice.
One of the ending lyric sang by both Jeje and Sonya, good for surprise but unfortunately they were not in sync when they sang their ending part.

They told the audiences that today event donation will be used to buy stationary for kids that fallen victims to the flood.

After the solemn atmosphere, the audiences now doing their chants ferociously just like a lion that have waited for so long for its prey.
Everything was done wonderfully except for Sonia, seems like she’s having some trouble due to her glasses.

Shania replace Melody and Beby in Shania’s position.

A little bit weird since they move as if they were dancing with the flashlight but we couldn’t see any flashlight attached.
Beby also takes the solo line part live, but she really out of tempo with her singing. Her expression changed a lot after that as if saying that she really disappointed with her performance.

Group shot and Kinal told us that the photos will be given along with the donation to the kids.
9.13 PM the show was over with Ve as the shadow announcer.

That “lilin-lilin” song is beautiful, and I think it emphasized the strength of JKT.
Give them any ballad song, and the sisters will have a run for their money.

My deep condolences for Sonya and Jeje. According to my history book, this flood was the biggest one since the Dutch era. So no wonder this enormous flood made our beloved capital it’s b***h. This notorious flood also was unstoppable, it just messin’ around with everything and everyone on sight. The disaster ‘ll be taken as a sordid history of our country, so i hope this never ever happen again (at least not with the girls). My appreciation for JOT for establishing such an event for a cause. Good work brothers!. Better a little bit late than nothing. By the way, where was Melody?

The great aspects of 48 groups are having charity songs and events for the people involed with any disasters. For instance, AKB48 created and brought the one charity song “Kaze Wa Fuiteiru(?)” for “Higashi Nihon Daishinsai(East Japan Big Earthquake”. At this time, for Jakarta Flood victims, I hope this charity event would be a strong part of the supports. The budget for kids’ stationaries! How sweet and warm JKT48 are!
In order to encourage any persons who are surronding sadness and solitary also who try to stand up
to difficult walls,near future,I hope JKT48 to perform “RIVER”.
Is that song not prefered by all myfriends who loves JKT48? Do you love JKT48 to sing love and uptempo songs only?
I preferred them to sing ballad or slow song now since currently their library really lacking in that department
. Sakura no Shiori would be a perfect chance for the girls to hone their singing as a choir.
Anyway, I personally think “River” as a medium tempo one (4/4 at around 110 BPM) with the chorus getting a minor scale
