Indonesia Festival 2013 Day 2 – Wotaliano Reporting Here!

Today the JKT event in Indonesia Festival 2013 day 2 started at around 12:30, after some wicked (and I mean AWESOMELY wicked) Indonesian traditional dance.
The main contents were the same as yesterday:
Overture > Aitakatta (Nabilah center) > Self intro > Personal skills > Fortune Cookie (Ve center)
Let me then give you a brief list of what changed:
– In the self intro time, Veranda introduced herself in Indonesian this time.
– As for her skill, Sendy sang again, but acappella (without BGM) this time. It seems the BGM was too low-key for her voice? Anyway, we got to listen to “Kopi Dangdut” and “Kawa no Nagare no You ni” one more time. Her voice vibrated and sounded even better in the latter today (but maybe that’s just me). Sendy tried to get the crowd to sing along with her…with so-so results.
– Next up, Nabilah. When she announced she’d do the Caesar Dance, laughter roared through the crowd. She got us to stand up to dance it with them…Crowd enthusiasm was still on the low side, but it was rising.
– During the talk show, the host guy asked the girls about the difference between Indo and Japanese fans, and Sendy kindly replied that she was glad we showed the same enthusiasm as they do.
Another thing the host (bless his soul) asked them to do was to have 2 girls describe the other one:
Sendy and Ve described Nabilah as talking too much (first of all), always cheering everyone up if the atmosphere turns blue and being energetic and hopping around like a rabbit.
Ve and Nabilah described Sendy as being mature and having an adult-like aura…but having a voice and laugh that is a little “unique”.
Lastly, Sendy and Nabilah described Veranda as always smiling and quiet, but going “kaboom” when a certain switch goes off.
Then he asked them about some incredible fans they saw in Indo, and Nabilah mentioned about someone who bought a plane ticket just for following them while they were going to a concert…but didn’t go to the concert him/herself.
They also asked the fans to ask them questions: to “what is your favorite Japanese food?” Ve replied “Taiyaki” (a kind of baked bread with sweet bean paste/cream/etc in it), Nabilah “Sashimi” (raw fish or seafood) and Sendy “Shabu-Shabu” (sliced meat cooked on the spot).
The host commented that the older member did the cutest choice, while the other two were pretty “manly”. (It seems Sashimi and Shabu-Shabu is what they had for dinner the previous evening)
Another fan asked what they liked of Japanese culture: Ve replied “Festivals, Dancing while wearing Yukata”, Sendy “Sumo” (because she missed it at the Japan Matsuri) and Nabilah…sorry, I don’t remember
The event’s conclusion was KFC today too. First they taught us some lyrics in Indonesian (“Yang Mencinta Fortune Cookie”, the chorus), then we all danced it together…with even some members of the Indonesian Embassy!
All in all, even if the crowd didn’t respond too enthusiastically (compared to how much the members tried to rile us up), the crowd got ultimately more involved than yesterday, and there were more people present, so I guess we can say it went OK?
More people also participated to the Western Union event (which was divided in 2 parts this time), and there were queues forming to buy the goods!
I am sure we will remember it as the event that the JKT48 first did in Japan, and when you could still see them easily from up close
Oh, one last thing: during the talk show part, a cool blonde guy acted as interpreter for the girls. (he did the same for Nabilah during the handshake, the day before too). Rumor has it he’s Ayana’s big brother!

he is Ayana’s brother. his name is Zaki. some fangirls here are also liking him, like some fanboys also liking Ayana’s sister (Sakina Syahab).
xD
Thanks for the explanation! He was handsome alright. His eyes kind of resembled Ayana’s too.
Again Sendy is awsome. I beg Akimoto-sensei to make her solo debut in Japan very soon.
。。演歌+Dangdut…
I really hope Aki-P sees these videos, even a little…
A collaboration between Iwasa Misaki and Sendy (Enka + Dangdut) would be fantastic.

“Mujin Eki (The station where no station crews are)” feat. Dangdut sounds so cool
This project will tap the smash hit at Karaoke area.
There is the big possiblity
I’m sure it would surely become an amazing work of art.
Akimoto-sensei, please read here! lol
“Then he asked them about some incredible fans they saw in Indo, and Nabilah mentioned about someone who bought a plane ticket just for following them while they were going to a concert…but didn’t go to the concert him/herself.”
Actually, what I heard when she was talking in Indonesia “Some fans in Balikpapan? (maybe), he was following Nabilah in the airport, but because Nabilah was already inside the boarding room, he bought a plane ticket, and met her inside the boarding room.. after that he just threw the ticket away”
Crazy fans !
Thank you very much for the detailed explanation! So that’s how it was. Crazy fans indeed…
as I expected.. that guy with brown hair is zaki, his face reminds me ayana..

but some question, is zaki AKS or AKB staff?? because he always accompanied JKT48 members when going to Japan..
If he worked only when the JKT girls go to Japan…maybe they hire him temporarily?
amazing to know that 3 girls can made a lot of effort..
as for the so-so crowd reaction, kindly remember that this event was Indonesia festival and not JKT concert
, having that much positive response in AKB homeground was already an achievement..
me personally hope mr. Akimoto will allowed Sendy to sing “kawa no nagara no youni” in a new album

GGGGGreat sparkling idea, benimaru-san
How about not Japanese lyric, but bahasa
If it would be possible, there is the possibility that “Kawa no” Sendy’s version will be popular in Indonesia, more than “Kokoro No Tomo”

I beg JOT to translate
at least if sendy can’t sing ” kawa no nagara no youni” alone in next album, i hope there possibility they can sing it together like “Sakura no Shiori” with sendy as a center
but it still better for the song quality if Sendy sing it alone
Hoho, actually at first, beside “kawa no nagara no youni”, I really want hear Sendy sing this >>>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUA-DcW1lFc “Sukiyaki” this song really popular until now in Indonesia, although because Kasino (member of WARKOP DKI (a group of comedian)) made it popular through the joke version and people know it as “nyanyian kode” (code song).
dat is a good idea, but unfortunately 4pm and selena already cover it (and even with better quality..) which made it difficult for Sendy to beat them popularity..
fellow j-fans in 2ch said Sendy will do an Enka collaboration in fukushima.. don’t know it’s true or not, but me hope it’s for real
mr. Akimoto need to open this site
If Sendy sing as the collaboration with Enka in Fukushima, this is really “Doin’ Something for Someones”.
Fukushima is still in a mournful and silent chaos with nuclear countinuous troubles.
Sendy can be the blight one who quench the people in Fukushima.

I hope if JKT48 will make a sub-unit, it will sing Dangdut song and Sendy as the center
This is such a great event. Thanks wotaliano-san for the report!
Sendy’s voice just wow!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYH8EEKdkIQ after watching this, I think nabilah said “Taiko” in Japanese culture part
and oh the man beside the host while dancing KFC is Ari Tulang @Aritulang. He is famous Indonesian choreographer.
Thank you for the reply and information! Yes, now I remember, Nabilah indeed said Taiko…
