Mayuyu: Thanks for listening to our new single song, SAYONARA Crawl. Do you like it?
Fans: Yeah!
Mayuyu: Thank you! Please continue to support AKB48 and SAYONARA Crawl! Yoroshiku Onegai Shimau!
All: Yoroshiku Onegai Shimasu!
Mayuyu: And today I’d like to inform you something.
Fans: Wooo?
Mayuyu: As already reported in the newspaper today, Nozawa Rena, who is a member of Team J, JKT48, doubles as AKB48 member.
All: (Clapping)
Mayuyu: It is not decided which team she will belong to, but today Nozawa Rena is already here. We’d like her to greet shortly in front of you. Now, let’s call Rena-chan together. Seeeno!
All: Rena-chaaaan!
Rena: Aku mau menjadi teddy bear punya kalian, I’m a dreamer, not yet a writer, I’m Rena. Yoroshiku Onegai Shimasu!
All: (Clapping)
Rena: How do you do? I’m Nozawa Rena. Yesterday, at JKT48 Theater in Jakarta, I disclosed that I would have a concurrent role as AKB48 member and JKT48 member. I surprised Jakarta fans, but after that, fans, members and staffs told me “Ganbatte”, so I was very happy. But to be honest I feel anxious about double teams member. Compared to AKB48, JK48 has less experience, so I wanna bring what I will learn here to Jakarta and I wanna be a bridge between Jakarta and Japan. I’m looking forward to meeting many fans here. I’ll try to be the best, Yoroshiku Onegai Shimasu!
All: (Clapping)
Rena: Also to members, and to staffs, Yoroshiku Onegai Shimasu!
Members: Yoroshiku Onegai Shimasu!
Takamina: Thanks, Rena-chan. I’m sure she is really nervous now. Until now, we have only ever had cases of an AKB48 member doubled or completely transferred to an overseas sister group, but this is the first case that an overseas group member doubles as an AKB48 member, I think she feels anxious quite a bit. However, in a matter of seconds I was caught by her charms. We, all the members, welcome her as a AKB48 member happily. Although right now it is not decided which team she will belong to, but please kindly support her as well. And also from us (to Rena), Yoroshiku Onegai Shimasu!
Haruka: With our daily thanks to you, after this we’d like to high-touch and see you off. Please stay there until our staffs guide you. Now, it’s time for good bye!
Member: Seeeno! Seeeno!

Aku mau menjadi teddy bear punya kalian, I’m a dreamer, not yet a writer, I’m Renaよろしくお願いします!

This weekend will become a happy weekend for 48 fans in Japan. Coz Rena chan already is there, Akihabara
Surprised to see Rena chan in this video. She became matured, even though she is junior high(?).And more shine and beautiful. At the same time, I can find she was so nervous. But Takamina followed well. Good job “So-Katoku”
Yea, Rena chan has good “Senpai”s, such as Tkamina in AKB48 theater. “You can do it :-P”
maybe..we indonesia fans just to worried about her..
especially regarding the different performance culture..
Different? Can I have your advise?
Perhaps I and benimaru – as well as some other fans in Indonesia – actually share the same worry about her. All this perception is based on our limited perception on what happened over there, compared with what we perceive as the happening over here.
1. The level of competition between member might be higher in AKB than in JKT. I imagine the competition to gain the spotlight will be different between Rena-chan and her teammate here vs Rena and her teammate there. Here, even if she is shy for taking the spotlight, she always gain it. I wonder if it requires more than that over there.
2. The level of fans reaction regarding the position she get in a team might be more strong. From generation factor, JKT 1st generation is junior to AKB 13th generation – which all of them -except Oshima Ryoka- are still kenkyuusei. Any slight push toward her from the management might reap some reaction from other girls’ supporters. We haven’t experienced such kind of reaction over here. Not yet.
Or perhaps, as benimaru pointed out, we are too worry about her. Perhaps we haven’t seen some hidden strength that Rena-chan possess behind those seemingly shy and fragile younger sister image. A hidden strength that might be unveiled when she is in a fitting environment. One thing that always fascinate me about these girls is how they can endure what I think beyond their tolerance. Though I am worry, nevertheless some parts of me is looking forward for another heroic feats like that.
I’m sorry, it should reply the one under it. m(_ _)m
I think it is a matter of perception and opinion, Tomo-san. The same things can look different when seen from a distance. Regular theatre-goers can have different perception from those who live in different city, province, island or country. And every single head will have different opinion regarding the same perception.
To this point, most of our perception here toward idol culture in Japan is built upon limited publication that we can access and grasp. For instance, I personally concern about the intensity level of anti toward particular member i.e. Paruru or Sashi from what I read in English-speaking forum. Yet, perhaps the situation is not as bad as I perceive from those forum. I sometimes misinterpret particular situation because of limited point of view.
I believe through frequent communication we can share more similarities in perception and fix the misperceptions. Articles like those in “What they think” series we have here can help much.
Well, real. Diversity
She’s already back in Jakarta yesterday. I saw her at fX while I’m having lunch with some friends…
