Seishun Girls by JKT48 Team K3
Finally second setlist for team K3 has started. I was fortunate to witness four premiere show of the Seishun Girls setlist. This is my short review of the first four show. As always, to help me lower my expectation; I watched the AKB48 version first, team B, since I like their version best. To be honest, I am less interested in this setlist. But as usual, I do believe that JKT48 can make wonders.
With that being said, I went to their Shonichi with a much lower expectation. It turns out that team K3 did it well enough to make me interested in this setlist, especially for the unit songs. For the group song, I still can’t enjoy it. Perhaps this is because the setlist is really different from the previous ones.
There are 2 shows the next day, which I happened to have tickets for both. This time, I tried to watch them with a more open minded approach. As a result, I began to enjoy this setlist. I began to enjoy the songs with Latin rhythms that are often found in the setlist. Two days later, I re-watched their shows at the theater, and the results is that I’ve becoming addicted to this setlist and completely move on from Boku no Taiyou.
This setlist is in the same vein as Pajama Drive for me, I believe many will have to try several times watching this setlist to become slowly and surely attached to it. To be honest, there’s also the team K3 factor. They managed to gives soul to the setlist. We can see how Naomi matched Rona’s pace as a rocker in Blue Rose, Viny and Yona as lovers in Kinjirareta Futari, also Yupi’s cuteness in Ame no Doubutsuen.
They also performed the Latin songs quite successfully, especially for Noella. The way she moves to the beat is simply stunning. And there is one song which I can say quite successful, “Yakusoku Yo”. This song is rhythmically exuberant but manages to kick the barn door out of me.
They are not perfect though, especially for the initial three songs and “Korogaru Ishi ni Nare”, but I think they still can improve their skills. So far my favorite song on this setlist is “Kinjirareta Futari”, “Don’t Disturb”, and “Yakusoku Yo”.
I really recommend this setlist as a viable contents that is exactly the polar opposite of the solemn Dare Ka no Tameni.
What are you waiting for? Let’s watch “Seishun Girls” by JKT48 team K3!
