Searching a new wind
Gracia was a photography club member in middle school. She decided to join when she saw a friend’s (who had already joined the club) photos and thought “that photographs are really fascinating, and taking them by yourself seems so fun.” In the photography club, she not only honed her shooting skills, but was also asked to model.
“The key to taking good pictures is to use the lighting to your advantage,” she says with a sparkle in her eyes. Even after becoming a JKT48 third generation member, during holidays she goes with her family to places in Central Java such as Dieng Plateau to photograph the scenery. I could take some photos of the fields deep in the mountains. It was fantastic.”
Even when memorial photos of the third generation members were taken, she borrowed the photographer’s camera and showed her skills. “The cameraman praised me, saying he was surprised at how good I was,” she says with a laugh.
“I just simply enjoy taking photos of the scenery and people.” Her next target is “taking photos of the JKT members’ real, natural faces and expressions.”

Hi all, my name is Shania Gracia. You can call me Gracia and I am 14 years old. People say I am a tomboy girl since I hate for wearing skirts. But that’s the fact because I am more comfortable when I wear trousers. Next, my friends say I am a funny person because I like to make jokes. That’s the fact, once again. It is my tagline: ALWAYS SMILE!
My motivation to be JKT48 member is first I would like to make my parent proud. Second, I don’t want to disappoint friends, families and everyone that have been supporting me. Also I would like to develop my talent. Here, besides learning how to sing and dance, I also learn to be discipline and act as a good idol.
I hope JKT48 can organize more events with fans, such as outdoor activities like hiking and snorkeling. I hope my existence could make JKT48 more popular.
Thank you! Bye!
