Itadakimasu!" Yukka says her greetings in Japanese. As a required subject since her first year in high school, she has been studying Japanese. "I like Japan. I just started Japanese. It feels so new; it's fun," she says. She's studying hiragana and katakana and practicing basics such as introducing oneself now in class. "I'm beginning to be able to read simple sentences." She's also interested in pop culture, such as manga and anime, and Japanese cuisine like tempura. Every day she balances her studies with JKT activities. "Whenever I feel down, I read manga to cheer myself up." The places she would like to see in Tokyo are the Skytree and the Tokyo Dome.
