#Happy3rdAnniversaryJKT48 : Looking back at the First Gen
As the Twitterverse screamed #Happy3rdAnniversaryJKT48 yesterday, members and fans alike reminisced back to the days when JKT48 exploded into the newly-created idol scene with the single, Heavy Rotation.
Earlier, we have also tweeted a link to their very first live TV performance. Do watch it if you haven’t! Surprisingly, the full group of 28 members were on stage! Even I don’t know all those early faces up there…
Looking back, those early times were good too. You could tweet members (some even got replies!), there was not so much competition and stress between the different teams/members like now and everything was exciting because it was all so new and fresh.
In a spurt of nostalgia, I have also created a montage of sorts of the remaining 1st gen during their early months. (The original photos are from the Official JKT48 Facebook page, with all due credits to JKT48 Project).
There’s also a bonus photo of Haruka in early 2012.
I find the early photos extremely cute! Especially those with members trying out different hairstyles.
So what do you think? Have the girls changed much during these 2 to 3 years?
Were you an early fan 3 years ago? What or who made you start liking JKT48? Was there anything you felt nostalgic about?
Do share your thoughts in the comments section below!

JKT48 now is BIGGER, HEAVIER, and FASTER. I remember watch JKT48 at their 1st live performance on TV, all the nostalgic is about their parking lot setlist. I think jkt48stuff have great amount of contribution for me to became fan of JKT48.
yeah you are right, JKT48 are getting bigger and in such a quick period too!!!
it’s been 2,5 years since im become fan of jkt48… they really changes a lot. but they’re still our beloved girls <3 and will always be<3
oops sorry i mean 1,5
time really flies! it really feels as if things are moving so quick
i didn’t even care about them that time..
and now…….i don’t wanna miss every single news about them…
it’s weird, I became a fan of the girls just for about 6 months but after I read this article and watch the video it’s kind of nostalgic and feel already have known them for such a long time.
My first encounter with this ‘girlband’ was in Mega Konser JKT48, 2012. Unlike the other girlband, I found that the JKT48 have an unique concept. I took a research about them on Internet, and VOILA! I became one of those wotas that you can easily find at f4 fX Sudirman, hahahah. And sure, time really flies. Compare the photos above with the current photos, and you’ll know what I mean. =]
Become their fan has been a great experience for me. They are something I’ve wished to be, but seeing them growing to be like this now also a thing I enjoy so much to follow through. Happy Birthday, JKT48. Wish all the best for you. Let’s be bigger everyday.
