AIKATSU! Press Conference in JKT48 Theater
Today (September 10th 2014), Bandai held a press conference to announce about their new project at JKT48 Theater with Reino Barack, Senior VP for Business Development at MNC Group, opens the AIKATSU! Launching Event.
What is Aikatsu?
“AIKATSU!”, short for Idol Katsudo (Idol Activity), is the success story of girls who dreams to become top idols. In this occasion, Bandai presents its new project in Indonesia, namely, TV animation series of “AIKATSU!” which will be broadcast by RCTI and its completely interlocked digital card game of “AIKATSU!”
The animation series will be broadcast by RCTI starting on September 20, every Saturday 6:30 AM. On top of that, BANDAI will develop various projects which are interlocked with “AIKATSU!” to provide an experience of “Idol Activity” that girls in Indonesia yearn for.
The Game
“AIKATSU!” is a digital card game where you played a character whom aspired to be a top idol by coordinating the character’s clothes and by auditioning for various auditions which presented by a challenging rhythm game. In Japan itself, an accumulated numbers of 110 million digital cards of “AIKATSU!” are shipped out in one and half years since the release date with a total of 15.9 billion Yen sales amount as of March 2014.

The game will have 70 cards in their 1st release. Here’s the breakdown for those 70 cards:
- 6 Premium cards
- 18 Rare cards
- 46 Normal cards
And the currently known type of cards:
- Cute Type
- Cool Type
- Sexy Type
- Accessory Card
BANDAI will sequentially begin installing the card arcade machines of “AIKATSU!” from October, 2014 in various malls with the planned costs of Rp10,000 per one-time play, rewarded with one card.
JKT48’s Involvement
JKT48 opened the press conference today with Viny, Yuvi and Hanna singing the opening song, “Idol Activity”. Yupi also sang the AIKATSU! animation series ending song, “Calendar Girl.” Both already translated into Indonesian.
JKT48 will appear on “AIKATSU!” TV advertisement spot as well as the 1st edition special collaboration card for the first quarter. Not stopping there, JKT48 will also participates in the animation series by singing the Anime’s theme song although currently it’s unknown whether it will be the opening title, ending title, or insert song.

本日9月10日、JKT48劇場にてバンダイ社は記者会見を開き、「アイカツ！」 プロジェクトについて発表しました。MNCグループシニア副社長レイノ・バラック氏が記者会見を始めました。
「アイカツ！」とは？
「アイカツ！」は「アイドル活動」の略で、トップアイドルを目指す少女たちの物語です。今日の記者会見でバンダイ社はインドネシアにてRCTIに放送されるアニメシリーズと連携しているカードゲームを紹介しました。
アニメシリーズはRCTIで9月20日から毎週土曜日6:30～放送される予定です。なお、バンダイ社はアイドルに憧れるインドネシアの少女たちに「アイドル活動」を経験できるような「アイカツ！」連携イベントを企画しているそうです。
ゲームについて
「アイカツ！」はデジタルカードゲームで、プレイヤーの役目はトップアイドルを目指す女の子の服装のコーデをアレンジしたり、オーディション（音ゲーム式）を受けたり成長させることです。日本では発売日からの1年半で「アイカツ！」デジタルカードが1億1千万枚出荷され、2014年3月までの売り上げは1590億円に達しています。

カードゲームの1stリリースのカード数は70枚。内訳は以下の通りです：
- プレミアムカード 6枚
- レアカード18枚
- ノーマルカード46枚
現在知られているカードのタイプは：
- かわいいタイプ
- クールタイプ

- アクセサリーカード
バンダイ社は2014年10月から「アイカツ！」のカードゲーム機をモールにて設置し始める予定で、1回プレー（10.000ルピア・約90円）毎にカード1枚をもらえる仕組みです。
JKT48との連携
JKT48は本日の記者会見で「アイカツ！」アニメのオペニングテーマである「Idol Activity」を披露し（メンバーはフィニ・ユピ・ハンナ）、ユピはエンドィング曲の「カレンダーガール」も歌いました（両方の曲はインドネシア語ver）
JKT48は「アイカツ！」のテレビCMにも出演し、1stエディションのスペシャルコラボカードにも現れる予定です。それだけではなく、JKT48はアニメシリーズのテーマ曲も担当することになるとのことです（オペニングかエンディングか挿入歌かはまだ不明です）

Whom are they actually targeting this game for?
Me can take it if its the anime (considering its more universal)..
but regarding the arcade game, if a bear look a like dude such as me playing this game, it just feels so. . .
lol i think their main target with the arcade machine and merchandise .. . main target probably kids .. . mostly girls although not shutting the possibility that grown up (man and woman or even older) to play as well. . . .

that’s why me ask.. whom are they actually targeting the arcade machine for?
they better realize that most of teenager girls/young woman in Indonesia prefer KpoP stuff than J stuff..

Perhaps the teenager girls 15+ are leaning toward KPop
So they are aiming to capture the children / tween segment 9-14 to convert them into JPop
If I’m not mistaken, Reino Barack said that the target market for this game is young girls.
Similar to Bima series which originally targets children, I think Aikatsu will also attract adult man like us
