Learn English Together with Rena
Just a few minutes ago, a friend of mine, Razgriz, notified me about an existence of a soon to be published English text book that will be available in Amazon Japan. The book itself is your usual English textbook with Audio CD. What makes it unusual is the appearance of someone we all know too well at the cover of the book, Rena Nozawa.
The book itself will be titled “Chuugaku de Naratta 9 No doushi de Ima Sugu Eikaiwa!” or “You can Speak English Now with 9 Verbs Learned in Middle School!” published by Bessatsu Takarajima Imprint, parts of Takarajima Publishing.
Rena will be the one doing the English narration on the CD included with the book with Nao Fujita, who voices an unnamed character in AKB0048 anime, doing the Japanese audio narration. It is still unknown whether Rena was involved in the writing process of the book which was written by Naomi Koike and Seishi Satou, though.
The book itself will be released on May 26, 2014 but currently available for per-ordering at Amazon Japan with the price tag of 1080 Yen.
Rena’s Preface in the Book
Translation [by Japarta] :
Hello, everyone! I’m Nozawa Rena from AKB48.
As an assistant to Koike-sensei, this time I am an navigator in this book and in charge of English narrations in the supplement CD. I was throbbing in excitement to challenge the navigator and narrator role in a text book such as those usually used in school, but I’ve tried my best.
I started to learn English since I was 3 years old when I enrolled in an international school, and my English had Aussie accents for a while. It was since the beginning of junior high that I started to speak in a non-accented manner. Also, when I started JKT48 activity in Indonesia, it was really tough because I could not speak any Indonesian. However, I continued to study it through many trials and errors and talked to people actively, then I’m now able to speak the correct language.
Everyone, please master English with this book!
