      >>Tokyo from Dec 13 ’till Dec 17 …???

The comment is from one of Japanese fans,so nothing is confirmed.
But, IMO there is a possibility that they will join the AKB48 Kouhaku show on 17th of this month.

Is that Chandrawinata? (I cannot differentiate Marcel and Mischa, sorry  )
Fortunately Ve didn’t come, or she’ll just fangirling over him 24/7 *phew*

And Akicha has ski instructor license? Wow…she’s more than meets the eye… 8-O

    ..

Anyone know whose gonna air the show in Indonesia? On what programme?

    ..

    BTW, superb post! :-P

    • Icahn says:

That’s Marcel. He’s one of Dahsyat! crews who accompanied JKT48 girls there. Marcel’s brother, Mischa, never works for Dahsyat! program.

why it’s always “promote Japan to Indonesian”? why it’s rare to see “promote Indonesia to Japanese?”
I mean, it seems like JKT48 itself just made to promote Japan to Indonesian. promote japan products, promote japan cultures, promote japan tourism.. etc.

well, i like JKT48. but somehow i just hate the facts that Japan slowly ‘colonize’ Indonesia again with JKT48 as mediator. Aki P didn’t even feels like want to give them their own song.

well, just saying. I don’t want my country day by day colonize by other country.

    • Angga says:

Correction, many times Akicha and Haruka tried to promote Indonesia tourism. Not to say many times also members from Japan tried to promote Indonesian tourism although so far only focused in Jakarta and Bandung and not in depth.

    • Tokyo Pop says:

      Hi,Rara
I am a Japanese and I think it is just a business on both side, nothing to do with “colonization”.
I am totally confused about your opinion. I rubbed my eyes in disbelief when I saw your comment here. “Japan slowly ‘colonize’ Indonesia again”
I don’t know what else I can say.

I hope you will dispel the misconception about my article.
      Thank you,sir.

      • ken says:

chill out Mr. Tokyo Pop!!! Hope no one ever mention this “colonization” topic again..It’s a very sensitive subject to discuss especially in the website like JKT48stuff. A product of Japanese like anime has been spread across world in many country but that doesn’t mean that country had been colonized by Japanese. They just grab an opportunity to spread the world about their places using local Indonesian for Indonesian. It’s a professional work. If you’re not interested to visit Japan, then so be it.
Thank you and sorry. Just want to point my opinion on this matter

    • ken says:

It’s up to the country to promote their culture and Japan did a good job utilizing JKT48 as their ambassador. Its not that they colonize Indonesia but using any necessary means to promote their country. BTW, the members obviously being paid to do the advertisement right???So, it’s a professional job right???just my opinion

    • mikomiko says:

Hahaha… Rara you are so funny
      open your mind
what I can see from this article is some japan local companies begin trusting their product to JKT48 like Okayama and now Hokkaido. Its something to be proud, isn’t it?
I hope in the future, there are some Indonesia local companies begin trusting their product to AKB48 to promote Indonesian product not only tourism but also Indonesian lifestyle.
At last it’s for benefits both of country.

note: sorry if my English so bad…

    • Ash says:

don’t wear those pants for too long on your head.
your brain may morph into something else.
people like you are the exact reason why Indonesia stalls too long in mediocrity.

    • Icahn says:

Rara, I’m saddened by your pathetic comment on this article. Please use this simple logic:
      – Hokkaido government want to promote their tourism to Indonesian people so they need well known and famous Indonesian public figure. But WHY JKT48?
Because Hokkaido government use the service of an ad agency. I don’t know exactly which ad agency but I believe they use the most powerful ad agency in Japan which is Dentsu, Inc. which have subsidiary company in Indonesia, Dentsu Indonesia. Dentsu Indonesia happen to be JKT48 management.
      – Why JKT48 promoting Hokkaido tourism and not Indonesia tourism?
It’s simple. Here, we have 1st party (Hokkaido government) who use 2nd party (JKT48)’s service (as ambassador) to promote the former’s product/service (Hokkaido tourism) to certain market (Indonesian tourists). If you want JKT48 to promote Indonesian tourism to any given market (domestic or International tourists), there HAS TO BE a party (Indonesian government) who offer JKT48 the job (as ambassador). JKT48 WILL NOT promote Indonesian tourism or fruits AS LONG AS there’s no (Indonesian) party at all to offer them the job (as ambassador). It’s pure business.

      • RozkOK says:

Sales Promotion Girl (SPG) almost doesn’t have any difference with Brand Ambassador!!!? It’s clear that you didn’t know what you’re talking about. Kids nowadays.

    • benimaru says:

and what do you have done to promote Indonesia then?

your tv was made in Japan, your cell phone was made in korea, your previous cellphone was made in canada, your shoes was made in america, your computer was made in china, even the cow that you ate was made in australia..

      a piece of advice; dig a 2 x 1 m hole, then plant yourself..

    • abaone94 says:

Colonize is just not the correct word my friend. If you use that term for any similar process happening in the world today, then most of the world is currently colonizing each other since business partnership is going on endlessly everyday.

Rather, I’d like to share a different perspective. The fact that JKT48 is being used as an advertising media by most Japanese companies are indeed the truth. But did you really think only the advertisers that reap the reward? The answer is no. By doing this promotion, the girls also gained more recognition by the Japanese people; as pointed out by this article. They even appeared on the news, which further exposes them to Japanese – and thus foreign – attention. It’s a two-way benefit that they take from this.

Hokkaido is just making most of the means to promote their region, and one of that means is by using JKT48 to target Indonesian market segment. After all, JKT48 is well-known here and there, so using a familiar group in both countries are logical for a business; it’s efficient, trustworthy, and it saves money.

  6. indr@ says:

I like this comment particularly, “Indonesian tourists will be very important and promising for the tourism in Japan.”

Up until now several Japanese local government has hired JKT48 to promote their tourism and products. I think it’s a very good idea because Indonesia has a very large population. I could only pray that the airfare from Indonesia to Japan could be much cheaper.

I think the cooperation between Indonesia and Japan are getting better and much better lately. I wonder if the presence of JKT48 have an impact on it?

    • Tokyo Pop says:

      >>I think the cooperation between Indonesia and Japan are getting better and much better lately. I wonder if the presence of JKT48 have an impact on it?

I guess so  . You will be surprised if you know a powerful and widespread grip of NHK-TV on the public. Almost everyone in Hokkaido and Okinawa knows JKT48 now  And JKT48 appeared on NHK national radio news yesterday.

      Go international!

      • ken says:

Good to hear that.. Mr. Tokyo Pop  now I’m certain that they should at least improve their english if not japanese to communicate with more people and fans around the world. Well, some of them are really good in english but they should practice more to gain more experience especially the front members.
