JKT48 Handshake Festival: A Guide

For overseas fans who wanna go to JKT48 Handshake Festival and under any circumstances you can’t join JKT48Stuff’s Jadilah Nekad program, here is the map of the venue and the area surrounding it.

The venue/location is the Epicentrum Walk (EpiWalk for short), located in the Rasuna Epicentrum Complex, Kuningan. The easiest reference is the Pasar/Plaza Festival, or the closer Bakrie Tower.

You can tell your Taxi Driver (If you took Taxi, which I recommended) to the location of Plaza Festival, then after passing the MMC Hospital and turning left, you should go further inside the complex until there’s a roundabout, the building shall be visible on your left.

For you who loves adventure and decided to get a little bit taste of busway (Transjakarta) like what Anon did back then when he visited Indonesia for the first time (And WasshoiJ too), you should get out in the GOR Sumantri Shelter.

Usually in the working days there are Shuttle Buses, both the large bus-type and the smaller van-type (written “Rasuna Epicentrum” on the body), you can wait for them right in front of the Plaza Festival after getting out of the crossing bridge. Should you decide to walk from the bus stop, it is only 10 minutes easy walk down to the EpiWalk.

If you somehow saw a big skyline and asked people around what its name which they answered with: “Bakrie Tower” … Epicentrum Walk is just right next door!

Parking Locations :

For Motorbikes

01. For Bakrie Tower employees with parking cards, the basement would be the best option.
02. Park at the Plaza Festival. Hourly tariff.
03. Park at the apartment parking lot just across the street from EpiWalk.

Directions:
After entering the Complex, go straight passing the Epicentrum Walk, take a U turn. After the U-turn, get to the left lane, and after about 100 meters there will be a parking lot with a gate and many motorbikes parked. Hourly tariff with (AFAIK) Rp.8,000 maximum tariff.

Park at the motorbike parking lot beside the Aston Rasuna. Hourly tariff.

Park at the basement of the Nyi Ageng Serang building. Flat tariff: Rp.2,000 or Rp.5,000

Accomodation

Near the venue, there is Aston Rasuna Hotel and Residence, fans from outside Jakarta/Overseas with sufficient budget should check the official room-booking page here

Food and Beverage/Dining

01. Epicentrum Walk hosts a lot of restaurants and coffee shops. Check their site for further details.

02. For Japanese fans wanting to experience Indonesian food, I recommend Kedai Betawi. For a kind-of Japanese-fusion dish you can try Cal Roll Factory.

03. For the coffee shop I recommend Pandava Coffee. Starbucks can also be found there.

04. For those of you on a budget, you can walk to the direction of Masjid Bakrie, walk pass the Complex wall and there will be a host of stalls and hawkers that is enough for budget-conscious fans. But be cautious, since it is mainly stalls that caters for office workers/salaryman, there could be possibility that they close at Sundays!
