A Bridge named Rena Nozawa

Rena Nozawa（野澤玲奈 15years old）of JKT48’s double team is announced with her return to Japan.She is the first “reimport” member of 48 groups. She announced that suddenly in JKT48theater (Jakarta,Indonesia) after the 18th June show . Rena returned to Japan at that night’s flight. We exclusively covered her.

Rena appeared with lucid smile, without tiredness after long flight. After her father returned to Japan because of business, she still staying in Indonesia with her mother and active as JKT48. In favor of value family life, she decided to return to Japan for the first time in 5 years.

Rena “At first I’m so worried, because I think I have to quit JKT48 and I really hate that idea.”

When she confronts that problem, General Producer Yasushi Akimoto presents double team with AKB48. That proposal made her to continue idol activity and also she got more possibility to expand her career.

Rena ”I really glad that I still continue JKT48’s activity as double team. More glad I can meet fans in Jakarta again. And I’m looking forward to join AKB48san. Though I have both uneasiness and pressure, I imagine I can get many experiences, I must make an effort to keep up with Senpai (seniors).”

Last year when we made interview with her, she said ”Of course I still continue as JKT48, 3 years later or even when I become 20 years old. I really love JKT48.” She has such a strong emotional ties with JKT48.

Double team announced for fans of Jakarta as surprise after the usual show. Fans and members not knowing about that and they scream at that moment.

Rena ”When I started to announce (my condition), some members cried, but staff came soon and explain about the double team, fans and members celebrated that. I feel fear a little bit because I didn’t talk about that beforehand to any members but their reaction is so overwhelmingly proud of me and that made me cry. But after that I moved straight from theater to airport, I had no time to talk about that with members (wry smile)”

She is the only original Japanese member of JKT48 (the first overseas 48group), that night she became the first ”re-import” member. She arrived in Japan at 19th, at that night she appeared at AKB48theater (Akihabara) as a guest immediately. She greeted to Japanese fans.

Rena ”Though Takamina-san and other members introduced me, I feel some pressure. Same 48 group, but there are many different things, because of different countries? Of course AKB48san has more experiences. Can I keep up with them? I will make an effort with my best, and I certainly become as same level as them. I will do it.”

Rena has 2 dreams. One is to become “bridge” which unite Japanese culture and Indonesian culture.

Rena ”I keep saying : “I want to become bridge of both countries” since JKT48’s audition. I think Japanese fans have little knowledge of JKT48 yet, I will promote JKT48 activities more and more. If fans who know about JKT48 increases, I think we can do overseas show. My role is important. Absolutely I want to make this dream come true. I have already experienced handshake event at Jakarta, I want to join handshake event soon and want to talk with fans directly.”

Her another dream is become a story writer as her personal goal.

Rena ”Since I was child, I like reading, now I like to read mystery novels both English and Japanese. When I read same novel with both language, I feel difference from original language. So,if writer can express by both language by myself, that will be great!!”

Reporter ”You want to write column or essay on AKBshinbun one day?”

Rena ”Eh? Really? Certainly I want to write for AKBshinbun. I think about what I want to write.”

And now she starts to dreaming new one.

Rena ”I start to watch Japanese drama recently. AKB48san’s ”Majisuka Gakuen” is so interesting. If that sequel will made, I want to appearin that. I start to dream of being an actress.”

She is 169cm. Her slender figure will give her possibility of being model?

Rena ”Of course if I get the chance to be a model, I want to challenge it.”

Though her team hasn’t decided yet, there is severe competition which team she belongs.

Rena ”I’ve lived in many places, so I can experience good things of their own cultures. I want to convey that to many people. I shall do my best and prove that I can do both. I want to become cute idol such as Watanabe Mayu-san, I want to learn many from them.”

She certainly becomes a member who give new wind to AKB48.

Born 6th May 1998 at Nagoya-shi,Aichi-ken. She lived Tokyo until 3 years old. At the age of four she spent 1 year in Bangkok, Thailand. Then 3 and half years stayed in Australia. She spent a few years of her primary grade in Tokyo. From 5th grade of primary school, she stayed in Jakarta. Her main language is English. Specialty is ballet. Hobby is reading. 169cm. Blood type B.

“Pi!!” is interesting.

Rena has many surprise things at Japan after a long time leaving the country. ”When I’m in Indonesia, I use car wherever I go. So, I feel kinda awkward using train in Japan. But I enjoy that automatic turnstile sound: “Pi!!” I also want to buy Japanese clothes for JKT48 members.”
