This weekend will become a happy weekend for 48 fans in Japan. Coz Rena chan already is there, Akihabara  Surprised to see Rena chan in this video. She became matured, even though she is junior high(?).And more shine and beautiful. At the same time, I can find she was so nervous. But Takamina followed well. Good job “So-Katoku” :-o Yea, Rena chan has good “Senpai”s, such as Tkamina in AKB48 theater. “You can do it :-P”

Perhaps I and benimaru – as well as some other fans in Indonesia – actually share the same worry about her. All this perception is based on our limited perception on what happened over there, compared with what we perceive as the happening over here.

        1. The level of competition between member might be higher in AKB than in JKT. I imagine the competition to gain the spotlight will be different between Rena-chan and her teammate here vs Rena and her teammate there. Here, even if she is shy for taking the spotlight, she always gain it. I wonder if it requires more than that over there.
        2. The level of fans reaction regarding the position she get in a team might be more strong. From generation factor, JKT 1st generation is junior to AKB 13th generation – which all of them -except Oshima Ryoka- are still kenkyuusei. Any slight push toward her from the management might reap some reaction from other girls’ supporters. We haven’t experienced such kind of reaction over here. Not yet.

Or perhaps, as benimaru pointed out, we are too worry about her. Perhaps we haven’t seen some hidden strength that Rena-chan possess behind those seemingly shy and fragile younger sister image. A hidden strength that might be unveiled when she is in a fitting environment. One thing that always fascinate me about these girls is how they can endure what I think beyond their tolerance. Though I am worry, nevertheless some parts of me is looking forward for another heroic feats like that.

I’m sorry, it should reply the one under it. m(_ _)m :)

I think it is a matter of perception and opinion, Tomo-san. The same things can look different when seen from a distance. Regular theatre-goers can have different perception from those who live in different city, province, island or country. And every single head will have different opinion regarding the same perception.

To this point, most of our perception here toward idol culture in Japan is built upon limited publication that we can access and grasp. For instance, I personally concern about the intensity level of anti toward particular member i.e. Paruru or Sashi from what I read in English-speaking forum. Yet, perhaps the situation is not as bad as I perceive from those forum. I sometimes misinterpret particular situation because of limited point of view.

I believe through frequent communication we can share more similarities in perception and fix the misperceptions. Articles like those in “What they think” series we have here can help much.
