  1. Coboy Junior, to my dismay, is not spelled with a ‘w’.

Most Impressive! Another trophy for the Hall of Fame. And what’s next? AMI? Damn! ….Next time their main foes (read: Kolor…ups..I mean Cowboy Junior & Ceribel) won’t give up so easily. Not without a tough fight. So, stay sharp and don’t dawdle.

congrats for winning another award :-D
not sure if they really deserves this award since it is KID’s choice award and i’m really sure most of those fans who vote jkt is not really a kid anymore
the voting system is jut…
AMI award thats the real challenge

    • Angga says:

True that, but even if they don’t win it, I hope they will still look forward for the next year and not to give up ever.

Congratz to JKT48 for winning the award…yeeeeay

Errr Angga, why do you become so awkward for anything involving Shania? LOL

  7. benimaru says:

agree with you bre, they suppose to perform something more “kids friendly”, eg BBB, heavy rotation, or the newest one on river cd (forgot the name of the song)..

and why so many people complaining about the baloon incident?? for Barney sake, those are kids!! most of them only at the age of Nabilah, age where they still don’t know how to behave.. pardon them will ya..

my happiness, was could see Diasta performing on-air again, sadness because Aki wasn’t there..

sorry for OOT; only a mere fans suggestion, but everytime they win award, the girls should make somekind of video as a tribute to Aki (like it or not, she still a part of team J and one that brought and promote JKT48 to next level)..

btw, you sure those votes are from kids?

    • Angga says:

Yeap, the balloon incident and not paying attention to the girls was totally understandable. They’re kids  . Same with you, I’m also baffled with those who complaining about the incident

And nope, I believe the votes came mainly from teens  . Although I also believe there are some kids who really did their votes with the help of their mum and dad or in the case of KageTora’d nephew, a little bit helping hand from the uncle.

Oh, Happy to hear the news of another award winning. Does this result mean that so many kids want to join JKT48 as future generations in other words?

    • Angga says:

I’m not really sure about it. But perhaps the exposure of the girls to the younger generation could somehow help the youngins’ getting interested to them :D

Winning any award will be welcomed. AMI? just for another wall-hanging trophy

To become a National Idol, JKT48 must be able to expand their market reach to a broader age groups and generational cohorts. These children are their future, while their parents as well as other older aged supporters* provide nurturing resources and guiding control.

As far as my comprehension allows me, a large portion of current JKT48 fans population** are still not able to earn their own income. Which means, they still rely on their parents for the fund they need to support JKT48 financially. Every parents has different policy and tolerance for their dependants’ allowance. As far as the JKT48 idoling activities is seen as in accord with their value, we can ensure continuous financial support.

I must point out that while a certain generational cohort values productivity more highly than the other, such value is embraced by older supporters in general. Current perception toward JKT48 Idoling activity tends toward the opposite value : consumerism. This, combined with general perception toward younger fans behavior that tend to be negative, not only prevent newer supporters from the older age group to come and support, but also make previous ones to leave.

There are many obstacles that they will face ahead of them, we’d better help them eradicating one that is closer to our reach: within ourselves.

*I avoid the term fans / vvota to label a certain group of supporters – that includes myself – since we tend to behave differently from the “core group” that includes the so called fans / vvota. “Behave” here doesn’t only mean manners, but also purchasing behavior, topics of interest in discussions, and common attitude toward the group and the fandom. Don’t expect us to discuss how beautiful a member is, or have a photo pack to trade (I gave mine to my nieces and nephew)
**Fans population is different from fans purchasing power. A large fans population doesn’t mean large purchasing power. It is assumed that a significant portion of purchasing power come from a smaller group of fans population.

Honestly speaking, I also doubt that JKT48 won because of the kids. As you already stated, whether due to their parents or siblings they chose them (even in my mind, the ones who chose them are their own fans who, mostly teenagers  ). And, as I watched the show, IMO most kids were not familiar with JKT48. They prefer CB or Coboy Jr instead (when Reza asked them who will be the winner of GB/BB nomination, the louder answer was CB  )

As for this: “some kids preferred to played with the slime rather than enjoying their performance (River)”. If only they know the meaning of River which more general (about struggle in life, not even about love at all) rather than “eaaaa” by Coboy Jr or even “Harus Terpisah” by Cakra Khan which more about adult love. I could see why they grasped their attention very well over JKT48 River’s. Yeah, love songs are more acceptable for their ears nowadays :-P

    • Cl4p Trap says:

Its about how catchy the song itself(easy listening) more than the content from the lyric which acceptable, IMO.
