JKT48 Trainee Pajama Drive Senshuuraku Report
First of all, I wanna say sorry for my big affection for them, especially to the innocents Trainees. For me, they are all my little sisters whose growth I watched over from crawling, to learning to walk and to the phase where they begun to mature.
The process to which the trainees have been going through from January 11th, 2013 to May 12th, 2013. A short time but they’ve nonetheless been able to prove themselves. And it was all paid off during the Senshuuraku show on May 12th, 2013. I want to share with you the memories and every moment that passed me that day. Touching moments with them that will one day be remembered forever after.
They have two shows, day and evening. The day show was full of happiness and their energy was all poured into the audiences who sung-along all the way through various songs. It was such a fun and touching moment that will last forever in my heart, in all of our heart.
The evening show was the epitome of what I would like to call their best performance so far. Full of energy, powerful movement. They showed themselves as a team.
But no matter how good they were on stage that evening, there was this something blue inside me. With each passing song, echoed with their energetic steps that fulfill our souls, songs that have pampered me since May last year, songs that are so familiar to my ears, songs that have gave me inspiration, is soon coming to an end. This feeling I hold dear makes every moment of that evening’s show feels like a treasure I will hold on to for years to come.
They have written their own story in a cramped diary with their own way. They colored that cramped diary with new colors. They made it different from what it used to be. A variation of colors that I will always enjoy and will last for good.
MC that evening was full of touching and emotional moments. Most of the members already cried even before the MC started. This will be their last MC in Pajama Drive. Each of their words, each sentences was carved into a beautiful poem of life.
“This set list is my treasure. We were once back dancers to our big sisters in Team J and now we are able to perform this set list to fans by ourselves.”
“We trained and trained and trained but we were always scolded everyday due to our poor performances and judged that we were not ready for this set list yet.”
“We didn’t have much audiences. It was still clear in my mind when we often asked each other about the Waiting List queue, whether it would be was full or not. But the answer we always got was either it wasn’t full or there’s no Waiting List queue at all.”
“I still remember very well when we only had 5 rows of audiences with a nearly empty theater.”
“We were given an ultimatum that if we failed to grab more audiences, that our show would be cancelled.”
“I’m was very happy to hear that today, we have 5000 people applying for the show.”
“I still remember the prejudice given on us that we were unable to do a single thing.”
“Back then we were so nervous that we often made mistakes in our dances.”
“Our audiences always fluctuated. Which somehow makes us stare our self in the mirror and thinking about what’s wrong with us, what is lacking in us. In the end we tried to bring back our confidence and tried our best to capture more audiences.”
That was some of the most beautiful poems that I heard that evening with every words feeling like a tear-inducing melodies. And I have to say that I can literally feel their pain which makes me all queasy inside. I never missed a chance when given to see these girls, right from their Shonichi days. I knew very well their experiences since there was more than one time when I did apply for the Waiting List queue and then still been able to SIT IN THE FRONT ROW with an almost empty theater. I’ve also seen with my very own eyes their worst ever performance.
Back to the unit songs, Acha was overpowering her comrades in Junjou Shugi with her powerful performance. Kagami, they shown the best they could. That evening was the best Kagami these girls ever performed. While in Inochi, they reverted back to the good ‘ol “What do you want?” in the solo part. I was amazed from the start until the end.
MC before Boku no Sakura was the moment when each and every members said their apologies to each others. It was one of the most touching moments. The bucket was filled inch by inch with their tears. And it was both rain and tears glowing that night when they sang Boku no Sakura. They couldn’t stop their tears from flowing down their cheek with the song that gave such a deep meaning to all of them, their own journey.
The audiences did a complete member call for those who were performing that evening with a loud and clear voices. The call gave the girls the smile they really needed when they returned back on stage. Mirai no Kajitsu was the bonus song that evening and the announcement of Boku no Taiyou as their new set list ended the show.
Perhaps this is the end of the road for the Pajama Drive chapter, but this will be the start of the trainees new chapter to show whether they’re able to stand by themselves, with their own way and their own characteristic. Boku no Taiyo will be the new stage of the art for them to fights their way to the mountain of limitless future.
Thank you Pajama Drive and JKT48 Trainees for giving us all the most beautiful memories that we will ever remember in our life.

Auf Wiedersehen Pajama Drive!
Simply the best pajama drive that i ever seen both kks or team J. The girls perform wonderfull and the audience also great. I wish all theater have audience like this… I watch on the real sensurakuu (2nd show)
I will always remember the wasshoi j last call
“Rona, Ikha, Yona, Thalia, J! J! J! Wasshoi, Nadila, Deli, Yupi, Natal, J! J! J! Wasshoi, Uty, Dhifa, Hanna, Acha, J! J! J! Wasshoi, Vinny, Vanka, Lidya, Noel, J! J! J! Wasshoi”
BRAVO KKS!!! That’s what I call KKS’ Finest! Their legend of Pajama Drive will never die!
So, the time has came for the JOT to release Pajama Drive DVD, yes? If that really happens….man, I will have it! Whatever it takes. (Looks like the gentleman who wrote the report extremely does know about the KKS. It also can be concluded that he watched EVERY KKS’ show. Wow….. a legendary supawota, perhaps? KKS must be proud to have a fan like him.)
Good job, ayaelectro. Your article represent what happen on their senshuuraku, and what Trainees had been through perfectly. Thanks also for Angga for translating it.
I was there too, and felt amazed by their perform, their spirit, and also the audience enthusiasm on that night. The theater was shaking, literally.
Since I also was given chance to watch their shonichi (first performance), oh my.. so much differences. On their shonichi I think only Ayen and Vienny who did their job well. Besides that, the MCs were so awful and the audience filled by some fans who made noises during the show. They (the irritating fans) screamed Team J’s members name in unit songs. Must be hurt for Trainees.
But Trainee did better and got better. On their senshuuraku they did the performance full energy like there were no tomorrow, smiling very warm from bottom of their heart. The MC sessions also good. I was touched, I really enjoyed the show, each moment. The fans did the chants and screamed the Trainees name from their lungs, no more Team J’s member name. They’re shining, not just one or two, but most of them. And they did it as a team.
And when “Wasshoi J” was performed, I talked to my self, “Ah, they really are blossomed now, they’re ready to go to the next level” and suddenly I felt teary, haha..
Congratulation, Trainees. You overcome every obstacles, it’s really worth to watch your show, and now you may step further. Keep the spirit.
it won’t be easy for JKT48 trainee to compete with team J member because most of team J member already have experience and skill in indonesia entertainment world / show biz before joining as JKT48 member. Mova, Stella, Kinal and, Beby is a model. Shania, Nabilah, Delima, Ve and Sonya is already play in some movie and become advertising/commercial stars. Sendy and Diasta is a singer. but if JKT48 trainee keep to work hard and improving their skill and teamwork then it won’t take a long time for JKT48 trainee to be able to compete with team J members and make team J fans change to support them too.
That was my first and last KKS Pajama Drive,
and I think it was even better compared to Team J’s (or maybe because it’s senshuuraku?)
It was so powerful from the beginning to the end.
I feel sorry because I haven’t watched their Pajadora performance before the senshuuraku
