by Angga · May 3, 2013
In commemoration of the National Education Day, JKT48 have their own way to reflect how Indonesian schools are nowadays. A lack of facilities and space for schools is the main reason for Shania and Sonya’s concerns. Like Sonya who despise the multiple layer of exams and Shania who dreams of a better facilities for schools all around Indonesia to help the students reached for their dreams.
To Cek & Ricek team on JKT48 Educational Event in The Kites Museum, Shania and Sonya stated their concerns for Education in Indonesia.
Sonya : How should I say it. Schools (In Indonesia) is boring. Too many exams and all of us felt tired of it.
Ayana : Yeah
Sonya : In my own honest opinion; School should be the place where you meet your friends, a fun place to learn and study.
Shania : I just felt very concerned. I mean, school should have better facilities.
Ghaida : And better lessons
Shania : I mean, It have to be what (the government) promise us. Better teachers and..I mean..a decent educational system since it is the pillar of our future.
Education is still the main priority for JKT48 members. Even though they are busy with their JKT48 schedule, Sonya, Shania, Ghaida and Ayana are still chasing for their own personal dreams. The chance to get a living from the showbiz world not instantly doused Sonya, Shania, Ghaida and Ayana’s dreams.
They have various dreams started from kindergarten teacher, psychologist to housewife.
Ayana : (I wanna be) a kindergarten teacher.
Ayana : Yeah the reason is, My Mom teaches in a playgroup. So I often helped her with the kids.
Sonya : Truth to be told, I still confused about my own dreams. But the main point is, I wish that everything that I do will be blessed and I could make my parents happy with my choice of career.
Ghaida : I have this a very big dream, BIG *laugh* . I’m now, fortunately, able to continue my studies in the university as a language student. My dream is to be able to speak with all of the world’s languages.
Shania : My biggest dream is to become a psychologist….but (I would choose) Housewife! Hey! It’s a noble job y’know!
Ghadia : My God…
Shania : Gosh..Isn’t it noble~♥ Taking care of our children~
Ghaida : *looks like she’s trying to bite Shania’s ear o_O*

The Bridge is Disconnected – Students Desperately Swim the River – Cianjur, West Java
Student : “Because the raft is full… can not ride the raft… we had to swim… me and my friends… no choice but to swim … afraid of being late … must swim … ”
They must risk his life
for their ideals and dreams …
We have no other choice
to get to school …
Despite the obstacles we had to face
but it did not dampen this spirit
to race with the swift water
and depth of the river …
Coastal Students’ struggle – Crossing the River to Go to School – Pesisir Selatan, West Sumatra
Uniforms are Often Wet by River Water – Pesisir Selatan, West Sumatra
We still have a spirit for school!!!
That is a tear jerking video. Now I wonder where the hell is my TAX MONEY GOES TO? Those kids need it more!
Your tax money goes to people like Gayus Tambunan, Dhana Widyatmika, Pargono Riyadi, Djoko Susilo, Ahmad Fathanah, Luthfi Hasan Ishaq, Angelina Sondakh and many others. See? No wonder they didn’t have any money left just for one simple and short bridge. So, the result is those students are screwed.
Dude, you really know a lot of those tax officials celebrities.
I work in the tax office, and it’s sucks
The need for a clear vision in education is probably Indonesia’s biggest obstacle in entering the global stage. Indonesians have already proven to be academically competitive on the global stage, winning many international science and mathematics olympiads. The challenge for the government is to be able to provide the same resources equally to disadvantaged students, and the latest effort to restructure the curriculum is showing that the government is not yet ready to tackle it.
Added by the fact that the current Minister of Education stated that English is not needed for 3rd graders and the plan to remove English from the current curriculum is on the work. That is just illogical.
The kite museum is very close from my house, I can go there on foot..
But I never go there, poor me
