and what is JOT responsibility regarding this? :?: :?:

    • X-com says:

Its her own injures, nothing to do with JOT

      • benimaru says:

so they really do not have any health insurance or safety insurance??

        that’s sucks…

and what if case like Dena happen again? (when she collapse during the show)

who will responsible to take the injured to hospital? who will cover the expense?

poor girls.. they actually not more than a money machine..

        • Angga says:

As I said, in general :D

That’s how thing works in the industry tho’. If you look at our past case such as the late Tata Dado and Chrisye, they responsible for their own financial plan for unexpected case such as illness. So yeah, that’s how the general showbiz industry work at least locally. I don’t know how JOT works but perhaps it is still the same.

been wondering about this ever since I heard the rumor about olive injuries, did JOT include the girls into any insurances policies when they become a member of the group? How about the AKB48 & the other sister groups?

    • Angga says:

As far as I know, in this industry (at least our local Indonesian showbiz industry), you are on your own for financial planning including your insurance etc. Special cases could happen but it is a rare occurrence.

      • Rifqi says:

Then I guess JOT is not responsible for this (although morally, they are responsible).

A kind of unfitting for a management towards their artist, honestly.

But since I don’t know how JOT works, I guess I can’t speculate further. Only hope that Olive will make a comeback as the 3rd generation.

Well..it may sounds harsh but that’s how it works. Different from the usual office environment (as in white/blue/pink collar workers) where workers were happily provided with -somewhat- free health access, incentive etc, as far as I know, the showbiz industry doesn’t have that kind of thing for the artists.

So yeah, contrary to the popular belief, even stars have to work extra hard to fulfill what us, common workers, already got from our companies right after we sign the employment contract.

My kudos to all the girls for their hard work.

Hello, antaressa here, i’ve always been a silent-reader in this awesome site

I heard from twitter that she slipped from the busway stop when she going home from jkt48 theater. There was a super-heavy-rain season in february right? her backbone is injured and now she got some recovery (physiotherapy) in malang.

sorry for my bad english

    • Angga says:

If it’s proven to be true…then we have our first case of career cut short due to injury in JKT48….

  5. Tazawa Kenzi says:

    日本でも芸能人は自分で保険に加入しています
    サーカーとかと一緒で、一応プロですから
    全て自己責任だと思います

    • Angga says:

Thanks for the info Tazawa-san :)

Tazawa-san said (based on Google Translate) that it is the same too in Japan. For a pro, they are on their own aka self-responsibility.
