Just another lazy author for JKT48Stuff whom mainly working with translations and sometimes writing articles about JKT48 with an obvious grammar problem. Was living his life as a JKT48 DD until...

wadahell is it untill now, they still lypsyncing?

me say this honestly, their voice is good (especially our diva on that video) 8)

    • HERMAN says:

I don’t know whether this is for real or not, but I heard (an elder wota or “sesepuh wota” told me) if they do lipsync, their performing fee will be cheaper about 25%. So you can guess the rest. It always about money, son. It always does. Sordid………

  3. Tomo says:

Intresting. What kind of impact does JKT48 have when Sendy performs Dangdut in public? Do many people in Indonesia start to feel “JKT48 have an affinity to ordinal Indonesian music fans”? Or are there something else? Among AKB48 members, one person sung “Enka(how can I say, a sort of “historical” and “grass-rooted” Japanese )song”. But it was a little “sparkler” from my personal ponit of view.

    • Angga says:

      A very good question Tomo-san!

I personally think the impact is pretty good Tomo-san, like how people that was at first doesn’t paying any attention to JKT48, now is paying a very little bit of attention if I might say ;)

Its not in a grand scale, but still do, still do :D

You mean Iwasa Misaki? I like her Enka technique :D , softer and smoother in my own honest opinion :D

  4. ilhamsyah says:

the english translation of the lyric is really cool to read hahahaha

    • Angga says:

 , I personally think my translation could be misunderstood as the process of getting to the pregnancy phase

At Super Bow Beyonce Knoles(B ) sang “The Star-Spangled Banner”
But American mass media make a noise.”That’s a lipsync”
Next morning Beyonce had a press interview. She came in the interview room. And she request to all rise.
And She sang “The Star-spangled Banner”with wonderful voice!
All press interviewer were surprised ! They were beat the Dutch.
All they were realized their “Lipsync”was silly question.
One interviewer ask “Yesterday’s song was Lipsync?
Beyonce admit it easily! Because live songs has many accident.
But we are professional singer must best song. So I did lipsync yesterday..^^”
All mass media satisfied her answer.
I wrote same comment 1 years before on You Tube. The same attack by Anti.^^
But, JKT48 Girls(Especially Team J girls) are all good singers!!
Stella is famous to a Good singer. I whole agree it!
In addition There are many impressive singer in JKT48!
There are many beautiful voice singer “Boku no Sakura” at Mega Concert…
But Melody & Nabilah’s voice impressive my heart…
And Sendy is very very good singer! She said humble herself.
But Her songs get over ” The wall of language & the border like “Deddy’s Comunication Skill.
    (He also Super first-class MC)
    I wish Sendy & hidden good member’s happiness.^^ .

Another talent JKT48 has I think. JeJe? Can she play piano and guitar? Like Sendy, can JeJe get beneficial impact from Indonesian music fans? When I saw JKT48 sung Hari Merdeka, I was so moved. Also this activity that JKT48 sung Hari Merdeka can make a good imapct from Inodnesian people. Am I wrong? The very respectable aspects are that they always to try to bring many social contributions for each own society, such as for Jakarta flood..

    • Angga says:

Jeje got a talent for piano and so does Gaby :D . Unfortunately even though the Hari Merdeka gave a nice impact on the net, it doesn’t showed up on national television. So yeah, an impact but also not in a very grandioso scale. As we all know, many JKT48 fans are netizens to begin with.

    • indr@ says:

Agree, we need JKT48 to sing more Indonesian songs..
Sooner or later, I hope they will release single in Bahasa Indonesia..

  7. Tomo says:

Forgot. Another talent is Stella. Her singing is so well. Can she obtain good evaluation for JKT48 from Indonesian music fans?

    • Angga says:

Yes she does. Stella singing talent is not something to belittle with. Her voice is unique on its own and she deserves more recognition for her singing talent :)

  8. Tomo says:

“Enka” sung by Iwasa Misaki dari AKB48. Do you feel a sort of similality with Dangdut? My questin is stupid(?).

    • Angga says:

Nah, it’s not stupid at all Tomo-san. There’s a very tiny weeny bit similarity between Enka and Dangdut vocal technique :D

  9. indr@ says:

Damn, her voice is so beautiful..
FYI, this is one of the most popular dangdut song in Indonesia..
Actually it is very difficult to sing this song, but Sendy did it perfectly…

  10. Tomo says:

For me, JKT48 is the effective media or portal to learn Indonesian culture and society. The one of them that I learnt is Dangdut. I heard that you have the great Dongdut singer, Rhoma Irama(so called “king(?)”.I searched his name on YouTube. I could hear some. But If my silly reauest is accepted by you all commentaters on JKT48Stuff? My silly and simple questuin is that I would like to know the best(i kow, any body’s “best”is defferent, please tell me your recommended tune for my understanding your culture more and Sendy’s Danfdut life.

    • benimaru says:

      aaah..

pardon me for saying this, but honestly it is preety difficult to understtanding Indonesian culture completely..

      here in indonesia;
      1) there are more than 10000 island
      2) almost each island have their own tribe
      3) almost each tribe have their own language
      4) almost each tribe have their own culture

even several european cultural scientist still cannot compile those culture completely

but if you want to know a specific hint to understanding Indonesian culture; it is simply an assimilation between arabic, hindi, and chinese culture.. (dangdut itself is heavily influence by hindi music)

      one more thing,
about Rhoma Irama; the “king” title is a SELF PROCLAIMED title by him sometimes in the 80’s (NO ONE ever acknowledge him as king..)

    • sanzenin says:

Well, if it’s about Sendy’s previous dangdut life.. this video might help..

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4ftdG4hKbM :))

her previous stage name was Sendy Senia instead of Sendy Ariani..

      enjoy..

  11. KageTora says:

I think Dangdut is a good start to learn Indonesian culture; it is a piece of art that represents ongoing process of interaction between cultures. This ongoing process and its myriad results is what define Indonesia: it never be static, it’s always dynamic.

To sum it up, Indonesia as a large Archipelago (in fact, the largest) composed of many nodes of cultures, big and small. Those nodes’ distance from each other renders their reception of external influences in different proportion from the others, as well as their independence to produce their unique piece of arts. On the other hand, their interaction with each other in a network of cultures blends all those uniqueness into something that we call Indonesia.

Thus you can always expect myriads way of appreciation and expression toward anything that is brought to Indonesia. As varied as our appreciation and expression toward 48 family as you can read in other article ( http://www.jkt48stuff.com/2013/02/bingo-celebrating-the-fandom-of-jkt48/ ) so is ours toward Dangdut. It is influenced by Arabic, Hindi and Malay music, but its end product can be different in each nodes / circles, be it Malay circle, Jakarta circle, Sunda circle or Java circle. It can also be different across genre, or performed by musician with different musical background, or in any stage of its history.

I am not quite an expert in Dangdut ( Angga might have better expertise ), but to add some examples to those you have seen in other article ( http://www.jkt48stuff.com/2013/01/what-they-say-local-mix/ ), I recommend these to illustrate the variation of Dangdut itself.

      KageToraさん

      Thank you for the links!
      Dangdut is indeed interesting!!
I’ve played the first link (Wulan Merindu) over and over again. (Yes, I am a jerk when it comes to easy listening songs and pretty ladies).

The singer is Cici Paramida, is this the same Cici as in “Cici” Stella? a way of addressing an older sister in Indonesia?

anyway, Asia is such an interesting continent!
and it’s not very far from us downunder!!

      • KageTora says:

        You’re always welcome!

Cici Paramida is her stage name, and it is stylized like a personal name. Cici is also a common personal name in Indonesia, particularly Sundanese, her ethnic background. It is common for Indonesians to have such more-than-one-words personal name, and Cici constitutes the short part of it, by which she is used to be addressed. Paramida is derived from Paramitha – a Hindi term, as well as another common personal name.

Sadly, I can’t found any english source about her, but to add some more trivia:
        – Her ethnic base is Sundanese; the Sundanese make a large portion of female Dangdut singer ( including Ikke and Itje ), as well as JKT48 Team J. They are known for their naturally beautiful faces, beautiful voice, and good dancing ability. If you are really into sensuality, you might want to check for “Jaipong” ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaipongan ), a Sundanese piece of art that influenced Dangdut and made its own Sundanese style.
        – “Wulan Merindu” is actually more of Malay circle than mainstream Dangdut, but that didn’t prevent her to perform it very well to the point that even the Malaysians like it.

      • KageTora says:

Sorry, I made a mistake. Her ethnic background is not Sundanese. She has Gorontalo bloodline, while it seems that she had some Sundanese influence from either her environment in everyday life or profession as singer.

It have become vaguer now to determine ethnic background, to the point that it is less significant. Bloodlines seems to be less significant factor than cultural influences from the surroundings.

Again, very sorry for such mistake m(_ _)m
